The elegantly styled, beautifully engineered and highly sought-after Mercedes-Benz SL models come to life in this fabulous photo collection. From the stunning 300SL through the new-for-1997 SLK, John Heilig reveals in words and pictures why the SL series of Mercedes-Benzs sports cars, roadsters and coupes continue to be the most desireable sports cars in the world. Also examines the 300SLs successful racing history.
Nice little softcover book, somewhat informative and well-written and laid out. more of a quick read and yet a nice pictorial as well.Including some exploits of Sl racing and the SL In rally racing, wish there would have been more coverage on that. It closes the book on then current SLK which in my opinion not really much to me. It offers a small bibliography, list of clubs. nonetheless, highly recommended, this was when In my Opinion MB was the epitome Of the finer things sadly (And by the way I do not own one,I am myself middle-class) that is not the case, as it is no longer exclusive but an everymans car that along with the marketing with CheGuevara being touted by ceo recently in a reveal and other follies specifically modern styling that is hideous have further dilluted MB and BMW, Being Young myself nonetheless I find this a Good read of a better time and better cars.
