About Allistar Banks has loved children's books for as long as she can remember. The magic and imagination fascinated her and brought her to began writing children's books as a youth. The mock book she wrote in elementary school was called "The Sorcerer and the Magic Pond," and it won an award. Her mother was also a school teacher at the time, and her heartfelt stories of children grew the Author's interest more to write this book. She looks forward to writing more books soon.
I love the theme of the book which involves a little lizard named Lenny who proactively gives away part of his most valuable possession - his green scarf. His acts of kindness are all focused on helping and encouraging his forest friends feel better about themselves, their day and their environment. The underlying messages of SHARING & CARING are easily transitioned to events within a child's daily routine.
This story about the Green Scarf that makes people happy was a very cute message. I got a little confused with the same sentence being on a different line in formatting. Also the tense of the setting switched and made me re-read a few times. The illustrations were adorable and very descriptive of the story.
