This is a history lesson, a lesson in the Welsh language, and a love story with a hint of war! The story of my Grandfather's (Taid) life and untimely death; his love of his country, his love of life and his love of Kate. Set in the late 19th century and early 20th century it follows his life as a young boy living in picturesque North Wales through to his early death in Jerusalem. The terrible hardship of his early life is tempered only by the love of his family friends and of course Kate. As a proud hard working Welshman he finds himself moving from his seaside town Pwllheli to the slate mines of Blaenau Ffestiniog. The tough unthinkable work conditions of the time reflected from local experience. He also finds solace in his poetry, his writings reflecting the beauty and hardships of life. The story continues with unspeakable commitment to his one true love, a commitment that see's him encounter many unwanted experiences just to be with his love.
