When Blanca begins to translate an Italian novel into Catalan, she doesn't expect that she'll be sucked into the emotions of the protagonist. The main character of that novel believes, fanatically, that her husband is cheating on her, and despite herself, Blanca begins to feel her own twinges of doubt about her love Raimon, his absences, his denials.

Look Me in the Eye, by Sílvia Soler, translated by Richard Thomson is a quick read about the pernicious, poisonous impact of doubt, of planted fear, of paranoia, of love slipping through your fingers and into someone else's arms. The impossible jealousy, the inability to know for certain, they all sneak in and cause Blanca rolling anxiety she can't shake. Look Me in the Eye is a compelling, 'book-within-book' read, about relationships, infidelity, and temptation.
