Disclaimer: I know the author, Silvi, personally.

Not many people can paint a picture with their words. Upon reading her book, I just realized that Silvi definitely can. I assume this is one of her early creations, so some roughness was expected. But, despite that the book was really well written.

As a fan of fantasy genre, I felt fascinated by her world building and character building. The story is about three little friends who set off in the dark of the night to explore the town beyond. But in the morning, they realized that the parents of one of the friend were after us. At this very moment, they were saved by Max who pulled them into this magical world, Sihiri.

Sihiri is the land of Sihrac people. They posses powers that represent the elements of the world. The Sihrac people are marked by the color of those elements in their hair. And if you from our world somehow find them, you need to undergo a test to find whether you are a Sihrac or not. Our little friends had to endure the tests as well with unexpected results. The story then morphs into a rescue mission where our little friends get to use their powers in real world. This is the part, where I felt that the story moved quite suddenly without really building an arc. The author could have lingered and gave the reader some more time to reach the crisis.

Finally, the story finishes with a surprising twist and leave the reader wanting more. After finishing the book, I was wondering whether there was a sudden rush for Silvi to publish the book. But regardless of that, I think as one of her early work, this book is really really good. I would be waiting in anticipation for the next book in the series.

If this book had been written by one of the famous fantasy writers, I would probably give it a four star. But, as her one of the first published works, I think this book deservers a five star. In terms of writing, I think a good editor would really be able to help her with proper feedback. At certain times, it felt that her writing is quite influenced by Rowling. This was expected, because I consider Rowling as one of the best world builders. But overall, I think Silvi did a really good job and it's a damn good story.

This was a fairly quick read - sized more like a novelette than a short story. The characters are interesting and engaging, and there is enough mystery left that I felt like exploring further in the world of the Sihrac.

This was a good mix of adventure and fantasy, and sets up the groundwork for a good series. The tone was a bit grim, I'll expect more lighter vibe and exciting adventures in future entries.

Nice quick read.

It was comfortable read. Could use some sentence restructuring, as I had to read some sentences twice to make sure which character it was referring to. The story itself is very nicely told. I hope there will be sequels.
