I’m on a mission to find as many books as I can published by Gestalten. I love the photos and much of the messaging of living in harmony with nature, the land, etc. While I’m not a farmer nor do I want to live off the grid, I feel a responsibility to contribute to a “least impactful” way of life, even in small ways. Living vicariously through folks who have taken this responsibility farther than I do or want to, there’s still room for change. No red meat, check. Composting, check. Cultivating veggies, herbs, and native plants, check. There is always something to learn. Gestalten stimulates my mind and my senses, and makes me want to visit Scandinavia like never before.

Shows a bit of people's lifestyles. A really interesting approach, full of beautiful images and tutotials of some basic recipes, like "how to make a sordough starter". A nice book to have on your shelf and revisit often when looking for inspiration for self-sustainability and homesteading.
