The subject matter is potentially quite vast given the geographic area covered. As a result the book was somewhat disappointing. It seemed to be simply a 'best of' book with content stripped from other Lonely Planet guides and focusing on a few select locations in the region. Given you would have limited time in a particular location during a cruise, I am not sure the book really recognizes that fact. I hope with future revisions the book and content will improve to make it an indispensable guide.

A nicely designed pocket-sized book that includes a section on the most visited Baltic cruise ports. Each section breaks down how to get around, what to see, where to eat & drink & shop. It also offers a really nice concise 2-page map of a walking tour of each city. While a great little guide it is a little outdated given the ongoing war between Russia & Ukraine which means cruise ships are no longer stopping in Russian ports.

Lonely Planet is an excellent guide, and I tear it apart to keep the information about the 5 port cities our cruise will visit. I was disappointed there was not enough information for each of the ports in Norway that our cruise will visit.
