"I want to own you, Belle. I want to claim you as mine..."
Danrick Hidalgo was Jeasabelle's love of her life, the man of her dreams since her college days. God, ito lang ang lalaking pinagpapapansin niya. The first time she saw him, alam na ni Jeasabelle na gusto niya ang lalaki. But fate was really cruel to her.
Walang epek kay Danrick ang pagpapapansin at beauty niya. Dead-ma lang siya. And she knew that he will not go for a woman like her. Until she got the chance to be with Danrick.
Inasahan na ni Jeasabelle ang mararamdaman kapag napaloob na siya sa mga bisig nito, lalo na nang halikan siya ng lalaki. Lalong tumataas ang level ng pagnanasa niya- not until Danrick said those words that broke the magic between them.
"You know, I'm not into fat women..."
How dare him! Patutunayan ni Jeasabelle kay Danrick na she was more that the "fat women" that she was.
This story is incredibly empowering, especially regarding body positivity.
Midway through the book, my frustration really built up, particularly towards Danrick. Basta. He was testing my patience, so I really couldn't blame Jeasabelle for her eventual responses and actions. The emotions felt very personal, and the author succeeded in making me feel Jeasa's struggle.
While the "plus-size woman x gorgeous hunk" trope isn't exactly new, the execution here hit differently. The approach was—boom! Sizzling. It was both steamy and genuinely empowering for plus-size beauties.
My favorite part was definitely when the dynamics shifted. I loved how the tables turned between Jeasabelle and Danrick! It was so satisfying.
However, nabitin nga lang ako haha. I really hope I could read more about their life after the last part. A glimpse into their future would have made the ending feel more complete because I wasn't ready to let them go yet.
