Another good story for children of divorce. This one is about 2 young boys with divorced parents. For the record, the title is "Mommy and Daddy Are Divorced," not "getting divorced." Anyway, it's like a picture book, but instead of illustrations there are photographs on every page. Since it's from the 70's, the pictures are quite dated! But, relationships with parents and children are timeless, so the story is still good for kids of today.

This is a story of Ned and Joey whose parents recently got a divorce. The boys are still trying to get acclimated to the change in their family structure. Although their parents are supportive and understanding, they sometimes feel angry, sad, and confused about their parents’ divorce. The boys realize that some things are the same as before the divorce and they can have good times with both their mother and father. This book is great when discussing family structures.

This is the story of Ned and Joey whose parents recently got a divorce. The pictures in this story are actual snapshots. This would be a good story to have students in your class with divorced parents read. This story could also be included in a unit on family structure.
