Rate this book
A woman plagued by fear. . . A man wiped from the past . . . A war distorted by time. By all accounts, August Bancroft is dead. He has disappeared from the life he once knew, flung through time to a future he has no hope of fully understanding. All traces of who he was have vanished, save a portrait painted by the woman he loves—his Olivia. Forced to take on a new persona and adapt, he finds himself lost in a world of strange and dangerous individuals, some of which would see him remain in the grave forever. Olivia Blake has a problem on her hands. Somewhere during her time traveling, the past has been changed, erasing the man she loves from existence. Even worse, her enemy, Gabriel Scott, is suddenly at the forefront of American history, the tales of his bravery and sacrifice thrilling even the youngest of school children. Desperate to right whatever’s gone wrong, she relies on the help of the one person she most ardently wishes to evade—Gabriel Scott’s sister, Charlotte. With August by her side and a new world of realizations and possibilities blooming before her, Olivia must does she stay in her own time and let history remain ruined, or does she return to the past and risk losing everything she’s come to love?

Plenty of research went into this story, facts about historical events and time travel were very specific. The story follows August and Olivia, from Finding Freedom, as they return to her time. However it is not as she remembers. If you enjoy either, or both, time travel or historical romances this should be for you. Highly recommend reading in order as the story follows directly. After the events of book one, ending the way it did, I was on the edge of my seat to find out what will happen to heroes August and Olivia. Seeing both back in Olivia's time now at the beginning of Abandoning Anarchy, there is a lot for August to get used to. This includes differences in Olivia's life than what she had told him, the big one being those that are supposed to be dead are alive and vice versa. But time can be a tricky thing, and although Olivia and August are new to time travel, they soon realize just how much they will partake in it and that Time does not like to be messed with. I am completely hooked on this series and I am so happy with what Kamery Solomon did with the second book. I only wish we could have more! I feel like the story wrapped up in book 2, but I would love to read another book or novella to see where things are with the characters in the future, or maybe it's the past. All in all, such an incredible and interesting time traveling romance!

It's like Solomon couldn't decide between a love story or a historical action novel, so she wrote one of each... When instead both books would have been better as one novel with less irrelevant details.

Nice

I loved the first two in the series. This was fun too. I've enjoyed the time travel romance. Great read.

This book is short! I can't get enough of the time-travelling story by Kamery. However, compared to the first book, this second book is not as entertaining, and it felt rushed. The heroine is not as likeable as when we first were introduced to her.

I'm currently watching Timeless on Netflix, and this book reminded me of the series. I haven't finished watching it yet, but the series might inspire Kamery? I know Rittenhouse is mentioned in this book as an accommodation compared to an organization in Timeless. But, what a coincidence!

Nevertheless, I love reading about August's experience in the modern world! It's not often we get to read the reverse adventure. Bravo Kamery!

God this book was disappointing AF. Olivia was so selfish and I get it she loved her parents but her thoughts were so selfish she didn't even care about her friends kid. I disliked her so much in this book. Not the herione I met in the first book. Anyway halfway through I just wanted to finish the book cause it got boring and olivia is ridiculous and I dunno howshe survived time travelling. Seriously a guy from the 18th century understood the concept of time travelling more then a women from 2018 its ridiculous!! I liked Charlotte though.

I loved the first book, but this fell somewhat flat. The ending was so loose and wide open. That was disappointing.

I didn't like this one as much as the first one and I can't put my finger on why. It was good, and the continuation of the love story from the first book was okay...I don't know if maybe I just didn't like this heroine as much as I like her heroine from her other series.

I loved the first in the series but cannot stand Olivia in this one. It also felt very rushed compared to the first novel.
