Ugh. This book was awful. I am going through the North Dakota section at our library and I figured I'd start with the fiction because it's easier for me to weed what we don't need. This one is going buh-bye.
What does this story even have? A well-developed plot? A unique love story? Suspense? Funny anecdotes or relatable family stories?
How about none of the above? I think this book only has one thing going for it, and that is that it is by a North Dakota author. The plot made almost no sense. Scratch that, it was really nonexistent ...the only theme was maybe betrayal and even that was weirdly spotty.
There is almost no character development and a hundred different characters with weird names that show up in the story briefly and are rarely heard from again. I am pretty forgiving of North Dakota authors because...well, North Dakota is not that big of a place and we don't have that many authors. But this one was hard to get through. I did only to see if there were any redeeming qualities that made it worth it to keep in our library. There were not. two stars.
