Portrait miniatures are hardly ever the subject of art history conferences. For this reason, and because miniature painting is far more than simply small paintings, the Tansey Miniatures Foundation devoted a further symposium to this subject in 2016. The results are documented in this volume. A total of 21 authors provide valuable insights into the complex and multi-faceted world of miniature painting.
