Bianca “Yonk” Martinez followed her best friend, Nicole, to the city after graduation. With her devil-may-care attitude and zest to live life on the edge, she ended up working a pole at The Penthouse Cabaret for the hell of it before moving up to eventually running the place. Now, her life is as close to perfect as she could imagine; her two best friends are married to one another, and she gets to spend all the time she wants with her beautiful niece and nephew. There’s only one dark spot. On the night of their friends’ nuptials, she and Walker “Tiny” Cardenas gave in to the flames that had been fanning between them for years, and now he is determined to make her his permanently. The problem? Bianca isn’t a girl to be tamed. She has convinced herself that she has everything she needs and that she’s about as settled as she can get. But Walker isn’t taking no for an answer. He doesn’t seem to mind her tattoos, her tendency to drink and cuss like a sailor, or the piercings that line the shell of her ears only covered by her unruly corkscrew curls when she allows it. Tiny sees forever in Yonk, and he’s out to prove it. It’s a battle of wills with only two possible outcomes. The winner either takes all or loses. But what does winning even mean if there is the potential of losing it all?
Flora Burgos is a USA Today best-selling romance author from the great state of Texas.
She found the escapism of reading at a very tender age, devouring the bodice rippers of yore, long before she'd even dreamed of a first kiss. Her first book boyfriends were swashbuckling pirates and roguish Highlanders who weren't perfect but made up for their brutish behavior with a good grovel and a happily ever after. Reading has always been an essential part of her life, and she loses herself in a good book at every opportunity.
Today, she's a mid-30's romance author and mom to a teen boy and a couple of confused, lazy pit bulls. She annoys her husband as often as she can, and she survives on poor sleep choices, too much caffeine, and too little water.
Flora loves hearing from her readers, hanging out in her reader group (Burgos Book Babes) on Facebook, and making TikToks (@authorfloraburgos) about her pit bulls and books. You can email her at authorfloraburgos@gmail.com, visit www.floraburgos.com, or send her a message on her social media profiles.
Again, it is a quick read but I loved both of these characters. There is a much softer side to Tiny as Bianca gets to see. I love that he was willing to compromise when necessary. Great Epilogue!
What a fantastic short story. Tiny maybe head of security but he is very soft hearted. He only has room in his heart for his Chula and their child. It only goes to show you that you can find love in the strangest places. This is a love story with an HEA. Enjoy
