You know the feeling ladies... You wake up in the morning, glance at your man and think, “Damn, he’s only gotten more attractive with age.” Then you catch your reflection in the mirror and gasp in shock. How could he have aged like fine wine while you seem to have just gotten old?
It’s not just dumb luck. Nor is there a magical male fountain of youth sprinkled with anti-aging wrinkle cream. The truth behind why men age well is rooted in their actions – what they do, and in some instances, won’t do.
Former beauty blogger and award-winning author, Phyllis Bourne, breaks down 10 reasons WHY YOUR MAN LOOKS BETTER THAN YOU with real talk, sage advice, and humor. Let her inspire you to rip a page from the male playbook and turn that past-your-prime setback into a badass comeback.
A native of Chicago’s Southside, Phyllis Bourne began her writing career as a crime reporter for the Ft. Wayne News-Sentinel and the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. After years of chasing cops and criminals, she left reporting to write about life’s sweeter side.
Nowadays her stories are filled with heart-stopping heroes and happy endings. Phyllis is 2010 RT Book Reviews nominee for Best Multicultural Romance, as well as a two-time Romance Writers of America Golden Heart finalist. When she’s not writing, she can usually be found at a make-up counter feeding her lipstick addiction. Phyllis currently resides in middle-Tennessee.
I love me some Phyllis Bourne romance, so I had to pick up a copy of this self-help title. I was not disappointed. Her trademark style, wit, and humor had me laughing out loud, nodding my head, and picturing the all-too-real life situations that inspired some great advice. If she does an audiobook, I'm soooooo there! Embrace the power of no, update your wardrobe with some solid staples, and get your mojo back, ladies - after you read this book!
With rhythm, levity and much personality, Phyllis Bourne breaks down how women handle maturing differently from men so succinctly that it almost feels as if she's walking in your shoes or living your life. I loved everything about this book. Advice was served straight, no chaser, the no nonsense recommendations meant to encourage and motivate. A must read for every woman who has wondered why her man looks better than she does. Or more importantly, how she can make her own life better!
Phyllis gave us sage advice without making us feel bad about it. Many of us over 50 ladies have husband's who can still fit college clothes. I say good for them... However, this book was about us using some of their skills to be a better us. Now, that I can rock with. Phyllis delivered a great book with lots of heady information, if we choose to accept the challenge... Bravo!
This was a good read. Every thing written is so true, a great reminder that men do make themselves priority. And we put everything and every body before we (women's) do ourselves.
I love Phyllis' style of writing. It was evident even in this genre. I read it through without stopping. It didn't feel like a self help book. It was life changing for me. So on point I thought she was peeping in my window.
