A Hood Love Like No Other
Laurence Marks was determined to be more than the life that was forced on her after her father was gunned down in front of her on her fourteenth birthday. Highly Recommended
You will not be disappointed. It takes you into the lives of about 12 characters and the way their lives become entangled with each other. The ones I consider the main characters are Heart & Lake and the journey they take you on is one you won’t forget. She was not over the top with the drama & there was drama. She also knows when to end the book and not go on & on with more books that are not necessary. There is so much more I would like write, but that would mean giving away some of the story & I’m not a spoiler. All I can say is I highly recommend this book. Can’t wait to read part 2.

Good beginning to series and 1st read by Nikki Brown. Lake was truly a sneaky one with all his tricks. I liked Heart & La as a couple & I'm hoping they can continue to make it work. Miracle & Mira are both a mess, full of surprises & I'm looking forward to reading next part to see how this situation turns out.

What in the hell is going on? Why would this fool, Lake, act as if Mira and their children was so important to him, when this negro has already married Miracle? He treated Miracle like she was the side piece when in reality Mira was the side piece?! Then, he goes even farther to deny their unborn child, Lake was a piece of work, and he had community penis. Sex was Lake's weakness, and that's why when he put his guard down, the enemy struck, and now he's fighting for his life.
The cat and mouse game that Lala and Heart had going on, I'm so glad that Heart gave into Lala. He loved her so much, that he didn't want to ruin the friendship that they had, because he felt that Lala deserved better. Lala knew that Heart was her soulmate, and that his weakness was her. There wasn't a time that Lala needed anything, and Heart wasn't there. Heart always wanted what was best for Lala, even if she didn't see it, and you can't help but to respect that. They started to have a hood love story, but the love that he had for Lala made him put his guard down, and now he's in jail.
Mitch and his wife, Wynn, were a piece of work. I'm not sure what kind of marriage they had. If I didn't know any better, I would think that they were both trying to see who could screw the most people. Mitch was screwing everything that moved, and so was she. I'm not sure when it came to cheating, who was worse, and there's no doubt in my mind that she's screwing Mello right under Mitch's nose. I'm not even sure if Mitch would even care. I'm just so disgusted in the both of them.

WOW, Whoaaaaa, Lake, Lake, Lake.... Who is more important??? Man this is more than a regular drama going on and for an intro, you did the thing with this one.

Heart, man you are definitely bae 365 days a year. What a MAN... Strong, alpha, boss, protector and as long as you give him his La, nothing matters.
Miracle, man you are so dirty, so so so dirty. Really, you did t need to get this far out. Thought I was going to like your character, but I am having problems with that. I mean, I am at the point of wanting you written off completely, but after this bomb, I guess you will have to be dealt with.

La la lost her father at age 14 teen years old her mother start drinking and turned into alcoholic and neglected her daughter had to handle a lot of grown up things on her own. La la was working her way thru nursing school to have a better life. La la was best friend with Miracle and she was having a secret affair with Lake Childs. Lake was best friend with Heart. Lake was in a relationship with Mira who is the mother of twins. Lake is also having an affair with Wynn the conniving vindictive trifling sneaky b---- who is married to Mitchell their supplier. Lake got shot is on life-support fighting for his life because Wynn lied about Lake putting his hands on her when actually Mira Lake girlfriend whoop her tail. La la finally admitted their feelings to each other and get together. Miracle is pregnant and is secretly married to Lake what a wild twist to this relationship. Will Heart get out of jail will him and La la stay together. Will Lake make it what will happen in this love triangle between Miracle and a Mira.

Lake created this whole jacked up scenario. His dick is the reason he is in this situation now. However, I don't like how Lala is treating Miracle, especially as her best friend. Keep it real with her and give her tough love, but don't get all sanctified on her. She was in too deep before she knew it. Lake played on a young naive little girl and she got caught up in her feelings. However, Miracle should have wised up and been a mature adult and left Lake alone but after that bombshell dropped I see why she didn't. I feel so sorry for Mira. Lake has made a complete fool out of her. I hope she finds true love and leave him alone. Mitch and Wynn are 2 grimey shady individuals. They deserve one another. I love me some Heart!! Loved this book from beginning to the very end and what a ending. Enjoyed the storyline, plot and the characters. Well written and it flowed really good. I had finished before i realized it and I still wanted more. This book is full of drama, action, lies, deceit and secrets. Throw in all the twist and turns made it a great read. Heart and LaLa are good for each other and I like them together. But I know it's drama on the horizon. Especially with Lake, Miracle and Mira all those skeletons and what shocker at the end. Due to that info and they way their emotions are on high, I know it coming and I can't wait. J just hope Mira to fall prey cause she in her feelings. Can't wait to see how it all unfolds with Mitch, Mello and Wynn. Oh and don't forget Quanie is gonna take everything laying down. Ready for PT.2 Job well done Nikki Brown.

This book has so many twist and turns it kept me on my toes. Lake is really keeping tons of secrets from Mira. I feel bad for her but I bet Miracle married him for her to be a U.S. Citizen. Lake can't die he has to much stuff to explain. Mitch is such a pink and he needs to die and I hope Heart can get to him and make him feel his pain. Heart has his own set of drama that he has not dealt with yet and that's Quinia and her sister. I wonder will Wynn gave her father handle her husband or will Heart do it. This book was fire and I can't wait til the next book drops!

This book is definitely a page turner. I'm still stuck on the ending that I can barely give this review. Nikki Brown never disappoints. I absolutely love Heart and Lala. Mire is another one of my favorites. I hope that Mitch gets what he deserves before Mire acts on the feelings she got when meeting him the first time or it's really going to be trouble in the city of Mooresville NC. Can't wait til part 2 drops

The secrets!!
I love stories about best friends falling in love, and this one didn’t disappoint. You tell from the beginning how much Heart and La loved each other. They had each other’s back like no other. I hate the mess hat La was caught in the middle of. Mitch ain’t bout ish and I can’t wait for his Karma. That ending was jaw dropping. I can’t wait for pt 2.

I loved loved loved it! I was def not ready for that ending but baby its about to go down next book. I sooo need the back story on miracle and lake. Im glad things are finally official for lala and lake but i know the drama is just waiting to pop out! Nikki did her thang and i cant wait for part 2!!!
