What happens in this house stays in this house…we’ve all heard this said at one point in our lives. But sometimes, those family secrets need to be told before someone else falls victim to it and sets off another chain of events, causing unimaginable chaos and turmoil in their lives. These sisters made a promise that they would never return to the life they were rescued from. But it seems that all their paths have come full circle, turning them into the very things that was once hidden. Can they face their past demons and get a grip on their families before it's too late? Or will they lose themselves in the midst of trying to survive? Latoya is the oldest sister, and she has more in common with her parents than all the sisters. Running from man to man, sabotaging her relationships, and always ready to bust a head at any given moment. Despite her anger and fast words, her hardcore demeanor is just a cover up for the secrets she's hiding. Monique deals with depression and low self-esteem because of her weight. And she chooses to suffer in silence. Writing all her pains down in her journal is her way of escaping it all. Three kids into her marriage, can she find the strength to get away from her horrible, egotistical husband, Reginald? Can she make room for love one more time? Or has love proved to be too much for this BBW? Nadine is the baby of the bunch , and has met the man of her dreams. Until another one enters with deeper pockets, causing her to lose sight of what's important to her. She soon finds herself inside of her own private prison, under the watch of a controlling husband. Can she find herself before she loses her true identity in his wallet? Through all the drama, heartaches, lies and secrets, can these sisters get it together enough to save their families from this cycle of dysfunctional love? Or is it too late? These sisters will see that some secrets are better told than kept inside.
This book was full of chaos from beginning to end. So much drama along with the craziness. Shannon made me want to snatch her up by her weave and choke some sense into her. Reginald took the word dysfunctional to a whole new level. And don't get me started on the 3 sisters. This is a must read to understand what I'm talking about.
When I tell you this is one dysfunctional family. I pray that Shannon gets the help that she needs. I'm so glad that Mo found love in a real man. I hate a man that likes to tear a woman down. Money is the rule of all evil. I'm glad that Nadine came to her senses and left that old husband of hers and got back in her kid's life. This is a really good book. I would live to read more.
This book had so much going on and I couldn't stop reading. Wondering what's happening next with all the twist and turns. This was one dysfunctional family. Held my attention from beginning to the very and I still wanted more. So much drama and so many secrets that make it a interesting and entertaining read. Flowed really well and I enjoyed these characters. Latoya, Nadine and Monique each had their own issues, but through it all the loved each other. In the end they were able to overcome and find happiness. First read by this author, but not my last. Job well done Selena.
Those three sisters were something else. Nadine gave up happiness for the almighty dollar. She came to her senses when Curtis showed his true colors. The grass just looks good on the other side. Monique found her Boaz after she distanced herself for Reginald. He was a disgusting human being. Toya was certified crazy. She was always in some mess.
Y'ALL THIS TH A FYAHHHHHH Selena Ann WROTE SOME SHEET HERE IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THIS YOU CRAZY......FYAHHHHHHHHHHH REGINALD A DIRTY SCUMBAG AND SHANNON SHOULD BE UNDER THE PORCH HER LOW DOWN AZZZ ........YOU DID THIS....... OUT FREAKING STANDING
Wow... This book had so many chaotic twists and turns it was unbelievable. Just when you thought you knew what was gonna happen, BAMM it happens but to the tenth power. So many real life situations in this book it was hard to put down. You just have to keep reading because you need to get to the end. Its definitely going to be on of those stories you hate to live because of its toxicity.
This was a good book. These were the most craziest characters I’ve ever read about. This family was so dysfunctional...I liked Monique the most out of the three sisters and I loved her with Clinton. Toya got on my nerves because she was too old for all that foolishness...poor Shannon...I will recommend this as a great book to read...Selena you did a great job...
The right title for this drama. These ladies definitely went thru it. The drama the lies and deceit. I was glad they finally found peace and was able to live a peaceful life. Well kinda lol. Poor Shannon i felt bad for her but that was a choice she made. Toya and Jamal is both crazy and deserves each other
This book will capture you from the beginning to the end. These sisters had a crazy life. I wouldn't wish any of it on anyone. This is my first book I have read from Selena. I look forward to reading many more. I would highly recommend this book.
The secrets in this dysfunctional family is at an all time high and so is the drama. I have never read a book that had me at the edge of my seat. Love, love, love it. This book was straight up 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
First I was geeked that this was a book for the big girls. Cuz we need and get love too hunty! Then I was caught up in all the drama this family has endured. Shannon and Reginald? Hated those 2 with all the passion my body could hold! I loved how Monique was able to move on with her life after finally getting a backbone. Nadine was a character that I also enjoyed. She was flawed yet loyal. Now that damn Toya? Mama was a piece of work! Jamal had a while lot in his hands dealing with her! But I get her. Being an oldest sibling, we tend to have the most on our shoulders and have to be strong for our younger siblings and kids. So I get her.
There were a few errors. More like typos and a couple inconsistencies that kinda threw me off but this was an awesome story!
These poor sister where taught that secrets are better left unsaid. Unfortunately it carried over into their adult lives. Nadine didn't want her family to know that her husband was controlling. Reginald did Monique so wrong. She didn't deserve that treatment. Toya stayed turned up. Of all the sister's she went through the worst growing up. They say it takes a strong man to love a broken women! Jamal was him, nothing crazy that Toya did made him leave her. Shannon needed her little tail whooped. Poor Lawrence that low blow had to have hurt. Luckily everyone got all their secrets out and they moved forward. Clinton is bae, he showed out for his Mo. Great ending!!
This was one of the most dysfunctional families I have read about. These sister's has experienced different levels of heartache. Toya being the oldest was the angriest and most violent one. Between the secrets she carried from the past and dealing with a unruly and troubled daughter. Her life stayed hectic. Monique was married to Reginald ole trifling, conceited, and filthy behind. He tore her down and had her questioning herself. Reginald was truly a dirty dog. He disgusted me. Nadine was chasing after money. The way Curtis was treating her was more so as his property.
I have to admit it was a lot going on . I liked that most of everyone did come up on top. I love Jamal silly ass he had me cracking up. I just wish Toya would have learned how to act so she could be happy but I guess old habits die hard. Overall it was cool I did want to find out what happened but I often felt like blah blah moments.
Too much was going on in the lives of these sisters, Nadine, Monique (Mo) & Toya. I think KARMA was a mofo the way Shannon suffered at the hands of her dad just like her mom, Toya did with her father.
I wish that it was a Part Two. This Family is a tripp. Toya, Nadine, Monique. Regina and Shannon was too grown. I can't believe Reginald. A very good read. Glad that everything work out for the Family
This book is the craziest sh*tbI have ever read but I just couldn't put it down. I mean it's sick but this is the truth too many families have & never face it. I need some wine behind this one.
Ok, this was a good book. It's sad that so many of use have them deep dark family secrets. I was read to punch Shannon in the mouth. In the end it's always F.O.E family over everything😃😃😃😃😃😃
This story had the wow factor throughout the entire story. I was so disturbed about the blatant disrespect a sexual behavior going on. We secrets can cause a lifetime of hurt and pain.
It was just terrible how Reginald treated his wife and had no love or respect for her. The whole family seems so dysfunctional it’s terrible. I’m happy Monique found love.
