The Loneliness of Man

Rate this book
In The Loneliness of Man, Chapman examines the extreme sense of loneliness which has overtaken urbanized, industrialized, atomized modern man. He finds all refuges from it wanting, whether they be heroic resignation, faith in progress, frantic appeasements of the senses, or whatever. He suggests that an element of human experience so universal and so inevitable cannot be without meaning and purpose for the Christian.
