I can’t remember where Rachael came onto my radar. It might have been a Joanna Penn video, but I just loved her. She comes across as a bright, smiley enthusiastic person. She is both a traditionally published and a self published author.
I have read her fiction, read her non fiction, found her books at my local library, and followed her podcasts. What I haven’t done is paid up as a Patreon follower of hers. [it’s on the ‘to-do’ list as soon as I sort out my banking issues… *eyes off hideously large ‘to-do’ list*]
These are some of the series of letters she sends to her Patrons. And occasionally to her email list. She talks about her fears, her life, her struggles, and her joys. They’re honest and real, you know? It’s good to know what other people you’d class as ‘successful’ deal with every day.
I know her voice so well, I swear she feels like my friend. And like all good friends, sometimes she’s tells you the truth you need to hear.

I loved this. Rachael is funny, self deprecating, and just plain real in this collection of letters. It is encouraging as the title says as well as her telling you to put your butt in the chair there is plenty of be kind to yourself as well. A must for any writer looking for a bit of encouragement. It is like sitting down to a cup of tea with a good writer friend.

Insights and a Kick in the Pants

As a writer, I love books like this - a bit of insight, a bit of inspiration, and a bit of a kick in the pants. I needed it.
