This updated version of the Encyclopedia of Philosophy focuses on philosophical theories, and principles of enlightenment and rationality, as well as the close relationship between philosophy and the sciences. It features 2 volumes, in alphabetical order. The Encyclopedia of Philosophy includes around 400 articles and is the joint work of 230 authors. Edited by Hansjörg Sandkühler (Bremen), who in 1990 also published the European Encyclopedia on philosophy and science.
