Way to go, Rylee! #HappyDance

“What about the fact I haven’t said anything about the ten pounds you have put on.”

“My marriage is none of your concern!” “You sure because I know the number of nights you spend in my bed and they overshadow the number of nights you’ve been home.”

“Where does Octavia fit in because I am pretty sure she isn’t part of the business?”

“You don’t even have the common decency to control your whore in my presence!”

“I am not sleeping with Octavia.” I walk close to him. “Baby, you may not be sleeping with her but you’re surely screwing her.”

“It is. You want to know the part that hurts the most? The very thing I’ve been wanting, you’ve been giving to someone else. How’s that for a slap in the face?”

While waiting for my sister to come out, I open the envelope to see a picture of Todd asleep with his head on a woman’s chest. I turn it over to read what is written on the back. “While you are in service, pray for your husband to stay at home and out of my bed.”

“How? Last I checked, you are screwing the help and I’m the one being harassed and embarrassed. The least you can do is keep her on a leash and away from your wife.”

She chuckles. “A side piece? Baby, if anybody is a sidepiece, it’s your wife.”

“Meaningless sex? You can call it whatever you want but I remember being the one you came home too after working here all night or the one who rubbed your back prior to putting you to sleep and you call it meaningless?”

“She already did but it didn’t work.” I laugh. “She thought having an affair would get my attention and I pretended like it did. I went home and we argued but it did not stop me from going home with Octavia the next night.”

“Your wife isn’t my problem, she’s yours and she didn’t seem to be a priority when you were spending every night with me.”

“So, you were laying up with another woman while your wife was getting the crap beat out of her?”

“We didn’t have sex; she gave me oral in the truck.” “Does she have the capability to pay somebody to do this?”

“When did this affair start?” “About five months ago?” “Where did you meet her?” “At my restaurant, she was my Sous Chef.”

“Your wife was hurt the moment you started the affair. Sit tight for me.”

Dude, facing me should not be hard unless you’re guilty of something.”

“You were with her the night I was attacked?”
“Rylee, it was just oral sex.” “Yea, well it is also just your marriage.”

“My second wife’s name was Laylah. I met her when she would come to Memphis on business. I was still married to my first wife and— “ “So, you’ve always been a cheater?” Rylee inserts.

Two adulterers decide to give their marriage another chance. Rylee and Todd both have high powered careers and a young son. both are selfish and immature. She feels forgotten and in many ways so does he. But the reconciliation turns into a rather unbelievable thriller with stalkers and plenty of dirty secrets.

I found it difficult to engage with any of the characters. They are self-centred and pretty much do what they please. All the God talk was hypocritical and the suspense/thriller aspects were implausible. It is hard to care when all the characters are in the wrong. the dialogue was clunky and the story was choppy. Really wouldn't recommend.

This was an excellent read. The book is about a wife who feels forgotten by her husband. How should this couple work out their issues? Do the couple communicate, stay married or go there separate ways.
The author has done a great job with engaging her audience in writing this story. You will not put this book down until the end. The story has many twists and I look forward to reading more books by this author.

Don't ever Forget your wife

I actually really enjoyed this and can honestly say I did not see that coming. Yes there's errors however they are easy to overlook when your really into the plot.

Todd was definitely a serial cheater I don't think the man new the words keep it in your pants.

Torn between a 4 & 5 but not a solid 4.5 🤣

This book had me hooked from page 1. I couldn't put it down. The reasoning for the star reduction: 1) The noticeable typos & lack of proofreading
2) The spiritual references

Did not expect that ending!

This can totally be turned into a movie & I'd happily watch. 🍿🎥🎬

One Star is Too Many

I’ve never written a review before, but I wanted everyone to know how absolutely AWFUL this book was. I wish that I could jump in a time machine and UN-read it.

Wow! Didn't see that coming! Totally shocked! This story is a reminder that people are not always who they appear to be. And that revenge can be quite deadly. Rylee has an affair because her husband, Todd, is ignoring her and neglecting their marriage. Todd is using his restaurants, as an excuse, to cover up his "dirty doings" as well. Unfortunately, their 3 year old son is going to be the one hurt when all of their dirty deeds are finally revealed.

Whew! Can you say "Lifetime Movie?!"😳

This story was a mess…seriously, all over the place! First of all, this book needed some serious proofreading/editing. Have mercy!

The wife, Rylee had a one-night stand to get her husband’s attention because he had been neglecting her emotionally and sexually for over a year, only to find out that he’s (Todd) been gettin’ down and dirty with his sous chef “miss thang” for months! And then there's a portion of the book where Todd and Rylee were actually gonna try to work on their marriage?! Really?! At least, that's what readers were led to believe. Rae, Rylee's sister had me side-eying her with that “give it 30 days” advice. I found myself skimming her convos.😒

Rylee's one-night stand and Todd's lil "heaux" sous chef both came off as desperate, but what happened to them was straight bananas!😵‍💫There was a LOT of crazy drama! I wanted to stop, but I had to keep reading to find out how all this drama was gonna unfold. Why did I do that?! 🤦🏾‍♀️🤣 That's when Todd’s past secrets began to untavel and came out like really bad Lifetime movie! And Rylee—OMG! What in the world?! 😳 I was just…I was rendered speechless. I went into this thinking that I was reading some kind of crazy black romance, but my dingy self missed the warnings of this being something else. My bad.🤣Charge it to my head, not my heart.🙃 I mean, don't get me wrong, I love murder mysteries and crime thrillers, however, this was too much all over the place. And on that note—I’m done… just too done with this story!🥴

What... Ryleeeeee.....whatyoudid girl!!!!!!

This is my first time reading this author and I read it in one seating. I mean, I read it within a couple of hours (3 hours to be exact) from purchasing it, finish it and now I am tired asf but I couldn't put it down for nothing.
Rylee, wow, what a woman; what a performance; what a cold heart; this was straight up gangster type🙈🙊... Unbelievable, remarkable, outstanding, devoted, are some adjectives that I could use to describe Rylee. She was also a good woman, a good mother, wife and a strong independent black woman going at her business.
Todd, man what a douche. He deserved his faith, maybe not like that, but still... He was not the strong alpha man, boss man, that you read in any of these novel. Nopes, he was weak, a womanizer and didn't know what kind of woman he had until the end.
Sampson, wow, wow, and double wow... Sick, sick, sick; he got what he deserved. As well as Octavia. Woman was pathetic just like Liam.
This story just showed you that you just never know who you have in your life, standing next to you and when one is pushed to the limits, they will snapped.... Prime example there....
Great job MS. Johnson. I truly will try to look for another standalone and read it because, you are good, very good as a matter of fact!!!

The Forgotten Wife” by LaKisha Johnson is a compelling tale that takes unexpected turns, keeping readers on the edge of their seats. At first glance, it appears to be a story about marital discord, but it quickly evolves into a suspenseful thriller/mystery that captivates from start to finish.

The protagonist, Rilee, is a character who elicits both sympathy and admiration. Her struggles with a neglectful husband, Todd, are palpable, and her decision to cheat on him to prove a point adds layers to her character. The moment when she throws a plate at Todd and Octavia is a standout scene that had me cheering for her.

What makes this book truly engaging is its unpredictability. The suspense of not knowing who is behind the events unfolding in Rilee’s life keeps the story fresh and exciting. Johnson masterfully weaves a complex web of characters, each with their own motives and secrets, leaving readers guessing until the very end.

I finished “The Forgotten Wife” in one sitting, unable to tear myself away from its gripping narrative. The ending was a complete surprise, as was the revelation of the person behind the mysterious events. Johnson has crafted a novel that defies expectations and delivers a thrilling read.

If you’re looking for a Christian fiction novel that offers more than meets the eye, “The Forgotten Wife” is a must-read.

A mystery that will keep you at the edge of your seat with a pounding heart.
......................
Plot
All Rylee wants is her husband's attention, he was just too busy to notice her. one day, an unexpected email, subject line: Forgotten Wife and little did she know, it was about to play a major part in her life. Secrets are revealed and Rylee fears for her life, when all she ever wanted was not to be The Forgotten Wife.
..............................
I was addicted to this book because of all the twist and turns but the ending totally blew me away. I wasn't expecting it and it was just brilliant.
......,.......................
The plot seems typical but it's definitely not and the characters are well developed. I enjoyed it from the very start to the very end
...............................
If I have to use one word to describe this book it would be "suspense."

This book is highly recommend and it was a 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5 star read for me. And btw, i am so proud that I own a copy of this book with such amazing cover

Pretty good!

This was a good read for the most part. I get a little confused when too many players get involved but it was easy to make the connections. The story was good and I initially thought it was a typical story line- husband cheats, side chick is crazy a d wants to kill everyone with a twist. Nope, it was quite a bit more and was good.
Rylee & Todd seem to be the successful power couple except Rylee is feeling neglected, so she makes the decision to get the attention that she seeks. When Todd finds out, hes livid but he didnt find out because he noticed the change in Rylee. Rylee eventually finds out Todd is having an affair and that's all she could take. They both commit to giving their marriage 30 days to get back on track but then the most bizarre events start to happen to Rylee. They start out as minor coincidences but quickly transcend into major conspiracies with all the players having secrets.

CRAZY!!!!

I gave this book 4/5 stars just because of the grammatical errors, typos and editing. Multiple times throughout the story the names of characters were misspelled or outright changed. Example: a character starts out with the name Roman but other times he was in the book as Ramon. But now let's get to the story. THE STORY WAS INSANE! I was not expecting the story to turn and end like it did. It is a thriller. I don't want to give too much away but when I was on the last few pages I was lost for words. There was a mention of a movie by Alfred Hitchcock which was based on a book titled "Strangers On A Train" by Patricia Highsmith that kinda was the premise of this book. So I'll be looking to read that soon and trying to find the movie. But it was really good just gotta get these little typos worked out.

"The Forgotten Wife" by Lakisha Johnson

My Opinion:

The author really gives the reader quite a read of "The Forgotten Wife" that will leave one saying Wow, what a story. There were a lot of well-defined characters, leaving one in awe of it all. Be ready for a lot of drama all over the place with twists and turns to the very end of this story. That ending left me thinking, so had Rylee been involved with this situation from the start of Todd's 'indiscretion' from the beginning? Oh, well, you will have to pick up this good read to see how well this author gives the reader one unforgettable read.

OMG!! 😭

I'm sitting here with my heart racing. You absolutely out did yourself with this here book. I have read the entire series of When the vows break, (Shattered) to Dear God, to the Pastors Admin, Chased, all in 3 weeks time.

I'm new to your craft, your gift and have lived all the scriptures referenced, some if which I jotted down; to the many gospel songs. I know that God had directed to find your work when I searched for literature that was Christian influenced.

So many of these books speak to my current life as my soon to be ex-husband has completely forgotten about our vows.

Thank you, as this wasn't \isn't just entertainment for me, it truly is therapeutic as I cry in the midst of these stories.

I gave this book 4 stars instead of 5 because there were some things I felt like was a little too unreal. I don’t want to spoil the book so once you read you will understand. I loved the beginning and I loved the ending. It was the ending for me. The twist was Epic. The ending is worth reading the whole book. Rylee was a woman who had a plan and wasn’t going to let nobody or nothing stand in the way of carrying her plan out. Todd was a jerk from the beginning to the end and I never felt sorry for him one bit. Octavia was a disrespectful heifer. Samson aka Roman was CRAZY!!!! Enough said about him.

I would suggest this book but I suggest reading the actual book and not listen to the Audio. It is narrative with virtual voice and not a good one lol.

That ending!

Ms Johnson has successfully crossed over into the mystery/suspense genre. This was so unexpected yet so masterfully done. Being that the character Rae was a minister, I thought her sister's failing marriage was going to be resolved through faith and religion. And after reading '2:32 A.M', I surely didn't mind another spirit filled book dealing with reality. But what Ms. Johnson delivered was a suspenseful, can't read fast enough, can't put this book down, gotta know what happens next, edge of my seat thriller. Kudos.Well done. Run with your blessings, Ms. Johnson!

The Forgotten Wife was a story about a woman named Rilee who was sick of her husband Todd’s ways. She was severely neglected, and resorted to cheating on him to prove a point. Through a series of twists and turns, the story transforms from a spat between a husband and wife, to an increasingly suspenseful thriller/mystery, and as the web of characters continues to widen, the reader is left more and more wondering what will happen next.

This was a great read. I would definitely read another mystery thriller by this author – or any other book for that matter. She is clearly a story teller. Great work!!

NEVER FORGET!!!!

Wow when Lakisha J wrote this one you will never see these anything coming. Brilliant! Rylee is a chief editor for Truth magazine. When she is confronted of an affair by her husband she does everything to make hear all she wants to 'not be forgotten ". Todd assures Rylee he has not forgotten her but his actions speak otherwise. Rylee began to see the web of lies Todd has from his past to present and payback is at her door. Ryle is not innocent either but as the bodies fly and the skeletons keep falling who will survive this story and keep their sanity?

Remember not to cheat on your love in any area of your relationship.

I could not stop reading. I love this book and it is a good book for men and women in relationships. The book shows examples of what could take place when one partner cheats. How everyone one around the cheater is exposed to danger due this negative action. I am sure if there was a survey made on relationships which ended up with a death involved, due to one mate cheating with someone's, it will be a high number.

Omg omg omg

Wait what!!! I was not expecting that ending!! This book was sooo good Why did this not become a number 1 best seller!! This is not the book to start if you don't have dedicated time to read, you will cancel plans to do anything but read. I am an avid reader, I have not read a book that has had me unintentionally staying up all night because I was drawn in from the first chapter. MS. Lakisha you did your thing with this novel!! It flowed very nicely I'm saying it this is the BEST book I HAVE READ IN QUARANTINE 2020.

This book is just a reminder of why it’s sooooo important to not cheat, lie, and keep secrets from people. Overall, I think the book is good. It did have a few grammatical errors in it, but nothing that takes away from the story. The two main characters (Rylee and Todd) are self-centered in my opinion and they would be better off as single people. I also think that the book touching on aspects of Christianity was a nice touch, but the author could have done a little more with touching on Rylee’s faith.

Really had me there

Never will I have ever thought the wife was with everything that was happening. She was such a great actress when it came to everything that happened. Man o man should men stop cheating and going on with caring about others feelings. I don’t agree why Sampson did what he did because it was his fault when he forgot he had a wife, just like Todd. Smh I really enjoyed this book.

Quite A Lesson In NEVER FORGETTING YOUR SPOUSE!!!

Mrs. Johnson is a terrific author. This was my first time reading her works; however, it won't be my last. The story line held my interest; for the most part it was pretty clean. PTL! WOW! Near the end there were more hooks & crooks, twists & turns than I ever expected! Then just when I thought I knew who did it; I didn't!!! Well done Mrs Johnson; very well done!!! WOW!!!
