I chose the book The Skull Man because I like forensic science. The book talked about Frank Bender. He's an artist. He helps police solve crimes by taking skulls and putting a face and hair on them. Sometimes they need to do this when the body is in very bad shape. I like how he said he got started. He went to a morgue where his friend worked. I think that it is cool that he went to the morgue because he gets to examine the dead bodies. I also think its cool that the police bring him some skulls to make a sculpture of that victim. Most people think it's gross but I think it's cool that he can help to solve murders.
I only gave this book 3 stars because I thought it was all about forensic science. There were other chapters that described being an ice cream expert, a subway architect and a sports photographer. I think those jobs are boring. I think that they are boring because they are not real interesting. I was mad when I found out the book was not all about forensic science.
The last job they talked about was about being an animal keeper. I like animals so working at a zoo sounds cool. The animals in the zoo come from different countries sometimes and they need to be taken care of. I think that taking care of a giraffe or rhinoceros would be hard. But I think that it would be fun to try. You just have to make sure you don't get hurt.
I wish the title of the book was all together so that I knew it wasn't all about forensic science.

It's a read180 book, and I'm trying to read them all so that I can talk with kids about them. This one was pretty good. It talks about several different jobs, so the cover is a bit misleading.

I think my kids will enjoy the interview style writing and interesting (though dated) job descriptions.
