This is the first time I've ever had to add a book to goodreads. Wayne Kee is a local author and he had the patience to create this fascinating little paperbook. By combing old history records, newspapers, and Indian accounts he looks deep into the early history of the Ochocos. Before it was a settled, before Prineville was established there lived the Shoshoni. Fierce horse warriors who rose to domination over the other tribes by stealing Spanish horses and then breeding and mastering them. This book looks back on the languages at the time and specifically identifies on old Paiute chief name Osh'ho. Although it appears likely that the range is named after him, we cannot say for sure and this is what Kee investigates in his book.
