This is one of the larger format Mr Men paperbacks: about 9” by 10”. That gives space for slightly more detailed illustrations by Adam Hargreaves, but the basic format is the same as the small Mr Men books we all know and love.

Half a dozen Mr Men characters take a snowmobile ride to the North Pole, which at some point morphs into the Ice Age, where they meet a sabre-toothed tiger, a woolly mammoth and a family of cavemen. After the usual hair-raising adventures, all ends well thanks to the characters’ extraordinary talents.

Roger Hargreaves kindly writes some notes at the end for confused parents e.g., “The Ice Age was over 10,000 years ago. Long before the Mr Men were born”.

It’s a lot of fun.
