Find comfort in Jesus’s words: “I am the way and the truth and the life.” John 14:6
Life is filled with choices, uncertainties, and hardships. But there is good news! Jesus faced many of the same kinds of trials you do, and He will daily walk by your side to offer guidance, answers, and hope.
Spend a few minutes each day talking with your Savior, learning from His words, and finding inspiration from His life example. Each of these 90 short devotions will connect you with the heart of Jesus and includes a brief prayer or a question for personal reflection.
Grow closer to Jesus and lean on His teaching for help in the midst of everyday concerns related to work, worries, finances, and more. Invest some time each day in a relationship with your Savior, and find your heart refreshed with wisdom—and comfort—for each moment.
Okay, I have to say a few words about one particular section that touched me right away, when first picking it up - and it was about senseless violence. It was such a heartfelt, nicely written essay on what to do, and feel when all of the negativity in the world shakes us to the core. Of course, this is written for the Christian person in mind, but as a non-Christian, I appreciated the care, no less. The rest of the book was just as thoughtful and touched many subjects that can shake someone's core, from fear to anger to finding happiness in grief, there is a lot to lean on, and a lot to digest. It is truly a little book of comfort.
This is a good devotional for those who are going through a season of emotional pain. The scriptures and encouraging words point to the great Comforter who is the only One that can truly provide comfort. I especially liked the part at the end on how to become a disciple of Jesus Christ. No book of comfort would be complete without the Gospel message.
I received a free copy from netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
There's a lot of good information in this book but it's not presented well. The thoughts are so disjointed and there are so many metaphors used that I would find my mind wandering every time I tried to read.
