You can definitely see Anna's embraced life as an "It Girl" and the humor is on point as usual. It just brings me so much satisfaction to see my ship sail after suspecting it in the second book and despite Anna having a boyfriend already. Thank you for making my heart feel extremely warm and fuzzy again, Katy Birchall. It's much appreciated.

Reread review:

Once again, I only read the parts with James. What can I say but Team Awkward for the win?? James is so very good to Anna in this one. He's a little less serious than he was in the second book, though still maintaining his rock-solid calm regarding Anna's (many) predicaments. Anna's gained more confidence, but it doesn't take a lot to knock her down either.

James' crush on her from the previous book is a lot more apparent now, but I like how he never forces her feelings onto her. He offers his unconditional support to her without expecting her to return, or even acknowledge his growing feelings. He doesn't try to replace anyone, but in small and very meaningful ways, lifts her up so she can know her own worth. He's witnessed her at her lowest and goofiest, and he still sticks around, so she knows his word is good.

It pays off by the time Anna realizes who's had her back the whole time. (And it certainly wasn't Connor). I mean, get you a guy who'll fight off paparazzi and can joke about you falling into ponds without making you feel inferior. One of my favorite moments was him reassuring her at the airport that her dunking on a cheating rock star was not the end of the world and that he was proud of her.

But of course, the crowning moment was Anna's dad surprising her by inviting all her friends to the wedding. She was excited that her dog (named Dog) was able to come along too, but the fact that James was the one who brought Dog?? Adorable. Her flying into James' arms the moment she saw him and going down in a fluff of purple dress was just about the cutest thing I'd ever read in my life. "Sometimes, you just know". Yesssssssssssss. Not to mention the book ending with their email messages with him sending an email that said nothing but "xxx"? Ough, [+10 damage acquired]. Not a lot of things hit like middle-grade romance fluff.

Great book, really enjoyed the semi-reread, would recommend to kids in this age category for sure.

I felt like everyone’s maturing in this book and I like it.
The mean girls get development, which was surprising and cool. On the other hand, a lot of things are undone, like and
