The prologue is a delicious taste of the book to follow. I know it's a cliché but this really is a page turner and I found myself finishing the whole thing in two days. It pretty much has all the ingredients of a perfect crime thriller, tension, suspense, intrigue, plot twists and double-crossing left right and center. Not to mention mysterious names on a dead man's computer, a hidden phone, Satanic cults, the computer hacker that comes to the rescue and the all important question, can Jairus really find the cops that can be trusted? There's a ton of dialogue, which I love, but some of the colloquial conversation and slang words will be tough for the non-English reader. I did appreciate the gritty one liners that sound natural and roll off Jairus' tongue (be warned that this is adult content). The sub plot with Tom is very much in the vein of Silas from The Da Vinci Code, but the indestructible long suffering main character definitely has his own identity.
Just saying, if I was Helen, I would have saved the shoes.
I'm a fan and await the next instalment in the series!

Hard to put down.

I would really like to have given this a full 5 star rating, as once into the story I found it extremely hard to put down.
But, and there is always a but. I found the last few chapters lost its way from the strength of the story that went before it.
I would definitely recommend this book to read and see if you agree with me.
