Another great read from Mr Rick Wood and it had me gripped just like the others. A few surprises in this that has you rooting for the additives to wake up and realise etc. Then the turmoil of Oscar and april. So much for one to take on but Oscar does this and manages but this time it's all gone awry and now he has to sort things again. I love the series and am going to go purchase the next book number 6 I believe. So if you enjoy the fight against demons and hell you will thoroughly enjoy this series. I'd definitely recommend it.
I can't breathe. My mind has been entrapped in five soul bending imaginations. What a ride. This is a ten star series. No way to put the book down no way to escape not knowing what is next. Just when you think they might have some answers you get the wind knocked out of you again. I have been up after midnight and into sunrise reading this series. I hope to catch my breath before the sixth book comes out
I just finished the fifth book in this series "Questions for the Devil", which is just as engaging as his other books in this series. IMO, these books should be read only by adults due to content. There is no blood/gore or anything like that, just the subject matter and the few to moderate foul language used. On to the review.. It picks up right where the last book left us, with the great tragedy that had befallen Oscar and April with the baby. Oscar is so traumatized by what has happened to him and her, but especially him as he thinks of their "gift" of being a "Sensitive" was/is from God; so if his (their) gift is from God then how could this have happened to him/them? So he proceeds on a pilgrimage to find out "why" this happened and "how" this happened (spoilers from last book ahead) to his and April's baby being born a demon and that he was under its thrall little by little each and every day, until finally the demon had him right where she needed him to be. The demon had Oscar try to kill April with a butcher knife to her throat, but she was saved by Julian arriving at last. So now he is burdened with all of this guilt, "why me" thoughts, and grief. Julian tells him not to leave and work things out with April but he says he can't until he figured out how any of this could have happened, especially because of their "gift" and he "needs" answers before he can look April in the eyes again without being ashamed for his actions and gullability. This is it for the review. I know, I know why stop now, right? Well, I respect this writer (as I do all writers for their hard work) and will just say that you have to read this series. It is good. I believe he could use a better editor and be prepared, if not already, that this is written in Britain's (Queen's) English. I give him a four star now due to editing. The premise of the story/series is good. The characters are all well fleshed out and the story flows well. I will change my rating to a five star, if he gets a new editor. I will finish this series and read the other books by this author. Cheers!!
Questions for the Devil is the fifth book in Rick Wood's series of The Sensitives. Although the author came up with an imaginative plot, I have to say Oscar is still on my shit list. It seems he makes one dumb decision after the other and he just doesn't learn from his mistakes. You would think eventually he would learn. But no, he just does not. And yes I know some of these the author uses to have a plot but I wish he didn't have to make Oscar so stupid.
And even Julian and April, after all that have gone through, they just blindly walk into a trap? Come on not even a test to see what is going on?
Weil I made it this far, I might as well see how they clean up the mess Oscar created.
Speaking of mess, still editorial errors in this book as well. These shouldn't happen with computers and ARC readers, I know I have helped authors with issues like that myself so this just shouldn't happen anymore in today's age, a tad annoying to say the least.
Oh. My. I have more questions than ever. The demons of hell sure are very creative on how they trick us mortals. I felt how lost Oscar was and did not think he was being tricked by a demon. Oscar was faced with a terrible decision yet I did not blame him for his choice. I cannot wait for the next installment. I recommend this book to anyone who likes nice veld with demons without being too religious.
In my opinion, ' Questions for the Devil has been the best book in the series so far. I was impressed that the author brought out the fact that Ancient Deity is always going to win in the end. They are so superior to humans. I follow left hand path beliefs and was pleasantly surprised to see no abrahamic religion bias in this book. Great book Mr. Wood keep it up!
Oscar goes away to try and work out the problems of the 3 demons that he will be responsible for banishing. April is in the hands of one of those demons and Julian is still trying to find answers in Derek's journal. Will Oscar, April and Julian ever get back together and if they do, can they still have the same rapport with each other, that they had once before?
Another fantastic book in this series.... just when you think it can't get any better/worse (depending which side you're on); it does! I shall look forward to the next book with abated breath; roll on Jan 19. TTFN 😊Enjoy 😇.
And another great read in Rick Wood’s ‘The Sensitives’ series !!! More evil, more horror, more excitement !!!! Can the world be rescued from Hell’s evil demon’s ??? On to book six, to find out !!!!!
What a story shows how you can be deceived soo easy how what you feel is real isn't suppose how people on drugs and mental health sufferers can feel on to next book can't get enough!!
