Book 4 in the Sweet Treat Cozy Mystery series, which can be read in one to two hours! Perfect for a lunchtime read or if you want to enjoy a quick light-hearted read, with a parrot-loving amateur sleuth, set in a seaside town with quirky characters.
A decent read but again obvious. Shame plus a whooper of a proofing error re the name of one of the females in the dialogue. She is out for a date with her deputy at The Pirate House. After a delicious burger, they are just about to order a sweet when an explosion rocks the building. They find the sous chef dead in the wine cellar by the blocked off entrance to the famous tunnels. But she's sure that the explosion didn't kill him as there is a blood stained crowbar on the scene. Now both of them have their sleuthing instincts aroused. Could the murder be related to the dead man's attitude to the women he interacts with? Hidden treasure, a break in and a fight for survive with Whammy acting hero again play out.
As one of the kids in the book - Molly's life sure was exciting for someone who ran a sweet shop. And this time, it was a blow-up in the Pirate House... with dynamite, of course. Molly and Jeffrey went investigating where they had a few suspects but no other clues. A bright idea struck and Molly went with her neighbor Marionette to search for clues in the depths of the night.
A high-chase run and the killer was found. This was one fun tale where romance was in the air along with hints of treasure. Was that the love found or pirate treasure? Read it to find out.
This story and series are fine. Nothing real special about them but I'm enjoying them enough to keep reading them. The continuous formatting and editing errors are becoming annoying. These definitely could have used a better review before publishing. "What you got for me?" as to be the most cringe-worthy sentence to have as dialogue.
There were issues with formatting, continuity, proper word use, and spelling in this one. I can normally overlook some of that, but this was so short that it all just stuck out. Story was nothing special, so not enough to overcome the issues.
I found this story to be a very fun tale of adventure and suspense. The characters were really a wonderful cast, and the author did a wonderful story of crime and a little romance mixed in.
This story was entertaining with Molly who owns a bakery ,who once use to be a journalist, who help Jeffery her cop boyfriend in solving a murder. The story was lighthearted, wish it was a little more excitement, but,, it was still ok.
An explosion and a murder mar Jeffrey and Molly's third date. And Jeffrey asks Molly to be his girlfriend. And Whammy again helps. Short, fun, enjoyable book.
Great murder mystery. I love the main characters. Nice to see Molly and Jeffrey s relationship growing. The twins add to the story as well as the bird. Thank you.
