A deadly pandemic is devastating the world’s population. In London, Izzy and her younger brother show no symptoms. They are immune, but to stay alive, they must leave the city and embark on a journey of peril and self-discovery.
Their fate is not merely one of survival. Their future is more than that. This journey will awaken abilities and senses dormant in them until now. What are they? Where did they come from?
Izzy and her brother are not alone. Other survivors know that they are so much more. Others who will stop at nothing to find them.
A deadly "virus" hits the London area and people are dying in a few short hours of being infected. Izzy and her brother Olly have survived the pandemic - they notice they have heightened awareness - like a sixth sense. Izzy and Olly must get out of the city - to a much safer place.
What happens next is frightful; a reality that is "perceived" rather than"actual". Izzy's determination is courageous - Olly uses his supernatural powers to find Izzy. They communicate through telepathy.
The ending is filled with the knowledge of overpopulation that is dangerous and with hope for the future. Izzy, Olly and Stephen live a simple life. They continue to develop their sixth sense...to be one with the world and its environment.
Rachel has a way of stressing certain words or phrases. They always come in threes: "I have to, I have to, I have to". You get a sense of urgency in Izzy's thoughts.
I'll not give anything away - if you have the time, it's a must-read! I give it 5 👍👍👍👍👍 thumbs up!!
Always loved post apocalypse genre of books and this one was very interesting, was recommended through Amazon gave it a go and really enjoyed it, good lead character s and well developed plot, would recommend.
Really engrossing read, felt like I was on a journey with the main characters who were witnessing the end and learning how to survive but with twists I didn't see coming, hope there is more to come.
Young Izzy battles against all odds to protect her young brother in a post apocalyptic nightmare. Great narrative which is well delivered from the protagonists point of view. Keep up the good work Rachel.
