Marie Rydzynski-Ferrarella
aka Marie Charles, Marie Michael, Marie Nicole, Marie Ferrarella

Marie Rydzynski was born on March 28 in West Germany to Polish parents. She moved to America at the age of four. For an entire year, Marie and her family explored the eastern half of the country before finally settling in New York.

Marie swears she was born writing, "which must have made the delivery especially hard for my mother." From an early age, Marie's parents would find her watching television or tucked away in some private place, writing at a furious pace. "Initially, I began writing myself into my favourite shows. I was a detective on '77 Sunset Strip,' the missing Cartwright sibling they never talked about on 'Bonanza' and the 'Girl from U.N.C.L.E.' before there was a 'Girl from U.N.C.L.E.,' not to mention an active participant in the serialized stories of 'The Mickey Mouse Club.'" Marie began to write her first romance novel when she was 11 years old, although she claims that, at the time, she didn't even realize it was a romance! She scribbled off and on, while dreaming of a career as an actress.

Marie was only 14 when she first laid eyes on the man she would marry, truly her first love, Charles Ferrarella. During her days at Queens College, New York, acting started to lose its glamour as Marie spent more and more time writing. After receiving her English degree, specialising in Shakespearean comedy, Marie and her family moved to Southern California, where she still resides today.

After an interminable seven weeks apart, Charles decided he couldn't live without her and came out to California to marry his childhood sweetheart. Ever practical, Marie was married in a wash-and-wear wedding dress that she sewed herself, appliqués and all. "'Be prepared' has always been my motto,"the author jokes. This motto has been stretched considerably by her two children, Nikky and Jessi, "but basically, it still applies," she says.

In November of 1981, she sold her first novel for Harlequin. Marie, who now has written over 150 novels, has one goal: to entertain, to make people laugh and feel good. "That's what makes me happy," she confesses. "That, and a really good romantic evening with my husband." She's keeping her fingers crossed that her reader's enjoy reading her books as much as she enjoyed writing them.

What The Single Dad Wants by Marie Ferrarella.

This is a quick read about Isabella Sinclair, a physiotherapist who takes on the job of helping elderly Broadway star Anastasia recover after breaking her hip. Anastasia is staying with her son Brandon Slade, a famous author. Sparks fly between Isabella and Slade and they both begin to wonder if they could give in to their needs without one or the other of them getting hurt.

This wasn't the most exciting of stories, but it was sweet, and I absolutely adored Anastasia, she made the story worth reading.

Capturing the Single Dad’s Heart by Kate Hardy

Nate Townsend, a surgeon, finds himself a single dad to 13-year-old Caitlin when his ex-wife tells him it's his turn to have their daughter live with him. He finds himself struggling to form a relationship with her. Thankfully help comes in the form of neurosurgeon Erin. Her past makes her the perfect person to get through to Caitlin. Spending time with Nate and Caitlin gives Erin and Nate the chance to start having romantic feelings towards each other. Feelings neither want, but can't seem to fight. Can they overcome the obstacles that should keep them apart and find love together?

This was a book that could easily have been a dark one because of the issue of a stepdaughter with issues, and also with regards to Erin's past. But the author wrote with enough positivity and added enough lighthearted moments that it countered the sadder issues and it all balanced out well. I loved the medical aspect of the book too and was fascinated by what I learned about spinal problems. You can't go wrong when you have a wonderful, believable romance added to getting a bit of an education too. I really enjoyed the story and happily recommend it.

Misty and the Single Dad by Marion Lennox

Misty is a teacher who's had to lead a staid, responsible life. As time goes on she gets closer to the opportunity to leave her job and town to finally live out her dreams of travelling and having adventures. All those plans seem to take a backwards step when Misty takes in a rescue dog and also meets Nicholas Holt and his son Bailey. All three of them need a stable life with a stable Misty in it. Can she give up her dreams to be all that they need, will that be enough for her, or will resentment eat away at her?

I adored this story, not least because of the large part a beautiful injured rescue dog played in it. Did you ever watch The Littlest Hobo about a dog that travelled around bringing joy to the lives he touched before moving on? Well, 'Ketchup' the dog doesn't move from town to town, but he is definitely a healing balm to all that have dealings with him, especially young Bailey. But forgetting 'Ketchup', I really enjoyed the romance developing between Misty and Nick, they seemed so right for each other even though it also seemed like it could all go so wrong. I wondered how the story could end happily with neither of them feeling as if they were missing out on anything, or losing anything. I wasn't disappointed with how it all worked out, they definitely had their happily ever after.

The Single Dad’s Patchwork Family by Claire Baxter

Chase and Regan are both single parents bringing up their children. Chase is a widow and has a daughter. Regan is divorced and has two sons. They both have a lot to deal with from their pasts, but when they meet, they realise that perhaps they might finally be able to move forward past the bad times. Maybe they can have a future together? There is definitely a strong attraction between them, will they act on it, or decide it's safer to stay friends.

What a lovely feel-good story this is. At times I thought things might have been a little too perfect, but then the author would throw in a curveball that got the angst flowing. It was a good balance, enough to keep the story realistic yet ultimately have you feeling happy for the characters. I enjoyed the fact that any intimate scenes between Chase and Regan were passionate yet without having too much detail. The children were really sweet, and there was a fabulous scene with them and the parents frolicking with sea lions which I adored. If you want to read a book that has you smiling nearly all the way through then I fully recommend this one.

Bride for the Single Dad by Jennifer Taylor

Dr Elliot Grey wants to move away from the rat race, he wants to bring his son up in the Yorkshire Dales where the air is fresh and life is hopefully more relaxed. His wife left him when his son was born with Spinabifida and he has been a single dad since. He's kept away from women and romance because he has lost all faith in love.

Polly Davies is a community midwife, jilted on the day of her wedding and determined to just focus on her work, she first meets Elliot when he is involved in a car accident. He is OK but the driver of the other car is in terrible pain. She is pregnant and the fear is that she is going into labour. Polly and Elliot argue whether it's best to leave the woman in the car until an ambulance and come with the proper equipment to remove her. But Polly insists that they can move her and must do it because if she is in labour she needs to be lying down.

From that moment on sparks fly between them, both have a lot of emotional baggage to deal with yet they both can't believe how strongly they feel towards each other. Will they be able to put their pasts behind them and move forward, or are they destined to stay apart?

The budding romance continues around various hospital cases with children as Elliot is a pediatric surgeon. It was fascinating and very emotional reading about some of the cases, I even had to get the tissues out at one point. Don't worry though, there are more happy moments than sad, and I enjoyed the book very much.

The Single Dad's Family Recipe by Rachael Johns

Eliza Coleman moves from New York for a fresh start, and part of that start is getting a new job. She interviews for and gets a job working as manager in front of house at a new restaurant that is opening.

Lachlan McKinnel is the owner and head chef of the restaurant. He is a single dad who has a wonderful network of support from his large family.

There is an immediate attraction between the couple, but for various reasons, not least the past that Eliza is still coming to terms with it's going to take a lot for Lachlan and Eliza to connect on a more intimate basis.

What I loved about this book is that although the romance was slow taking off, it was well balanced out with all the comings and goings of starting up a restaurant. The fab meals and drinks that Lachlan comes up with sounded great, and when he was teaching Eliza to cook it was great fun to read. There were some sad moments, but for the most part this was a beautiful, fun romance with never a dull moment.

This whole collection of books was a real pleasure to read, it took me a while to get through them purely because I was reading other books in between that I needed to finish first. I definitely recommend this collection and not just for summertime.

So, if you're like me you probably have a spot soft for single dad stories. I love stories like these where they finally find their happily ever after for their family and they are just my favourite to read when I just want something quick and fun to read! This collection has 6 books all about single dads and I enjoyed every one of them. This is the perfect book to read as you can read all 6 books in one go, read one and then read another one a few weeks later totally up to you and you will love them all!

What The Single Dad Wants by Marie Ferrarella - Isabelle is a physiotherapist. She has been hired by famous actress Anastasia when she sadly hurts her hip and needs her help. She is asked to move in for 6 weeks to help Anastasia get better but, she will also be living with Anastasia's son and his daughter. Brandon is a famous author and loves his daughter. He is happy to have his mum home and that she is getting help but, Isabelle is something different. She is fun, bubbly and so different from other people he has met. She is down to earth. What will happen after these 6 weeks? Will they give into each other? Or will they stop before their feelings get too deep? I really enjoyed this one. I loved his mother, his daughter and their relationship! It was a wonderful story!

Capturing The Single Dads Heart by Kate Hardy - I love Kates books and I was so excited to see she had written one in this collection. Erin doesn't believe love lasts after things happened in her past. She works at a hospital and meets Nate. Nate is good looking and a single father to troubled Caitlin. His full time after work goes straight to Caitlin but, Erin is tempting him. He doesn't need the temptation but he can't resist. Erin can't resist helping this father and daughter. But, after time feelings get involved. Will Erin be able to leave these two unscathed? Or will Nate convince her that she should give this love a chance?
I ADORED this one. It was great to show the troubles you some times have when you're a single parent and that it's okay to ask for help and give in.

Misty and The Single Dad by Marion Lennox - I enjoyed this book but out of the 6 it wasn't my all time favourite. I love that involved a father and son relocating. Nicholas and his son are moving and they meet Misty who is a teacher. They are planning on staying there for a happy and better life but Misty has had plans for years to not stay in this town but, meeting these two have changed things for her.
A story of choosing the right path and finally being happy. This was a really cute story and I love their relationship.

The Single Dad's Patchwork Family by Claire Baxter - This was such a cute story. We have two single parents. Both hurt from past relationships and would do anything for their kids. Regan has two boys and Chase has just moved to area with his daughter. They bond over being single parents and experiences they both have shared. Are they willing to put their family together for a happily ever after? Such a cute story of finally find a happily ever after.

Bride For The Single Dad by Jennifer Taylor - It's hard when you find someone who bonds with your child and makes them happy. This is what Elliot is going through. His ex wife abandoned him and his son and he vows to make his son's life happy and be there for him but when he meets midwife Polly his plans start to change. He knows he wants her but, he doesn't want her to leave them like his ex did hurting them even more but, Polly is a wonderful lady, they have a connection and she is wonderful with his son. Will Elliot open his heart up to a brighter future? This one was so cute and really love Polly and how tentative she was with both of them and didn't step out of line and was just there for them.

The Single Dad's Family Recipe by Rachael Johns - Lachlan is a single dad to his son, his ex wife has custody of their daughter and he has just opened a restaurant. He hires Eliza. She has just moved to this city with a past she isn't ready to talk about. She just wants to work and hide. With late nights of learning how to cook these two will share more things than they expected. Such a cute story and these characters where so wonderful.

A wonderful collection of stories that will give you all the feels.
