A delicious fantasy comes true for Vic Waller. A 52-year-old insurance salesman, he begins a second career as placekicker for the Dallas Cowboys in this hilarious pro football novel.
This is a fun book to read. It is far fetched but who cares when one is reading for pleasure. The book is about a 52-year old, insurance man who makes it on the 1982 Dallas Cowboys professional football team. A little romance is included in the book with nothing racy. I enjoyed it.
Vic Waller is over 50 years old, hasn't played football since high school, and unbeknownst to everyone else, will become the most valuable member of the Dallas Cowboy's football team. He is, in fact, so good that he will ruined the entire sport of football for everyone. Because he is the best kicker the world has ever seen, or ever will see, able to score a perfect goal from the opposite end of the field. I really enjoyed this book despite knowing almost nothing about football except that points are good. It was funny, and the characters were likable to the very end. It's short and unique and upbeat, exploring what would happen when one team always wins.
