Middle schoolers are at a place in life when they are experiencing many things. They are beginning to mature and they are making new friends. They are exploring and trying new things. Middle school students need someone who will take the time to listen, to understand their feelings - someone who will not laugh at them or put them down. Middle school Peer Listeners can fill the bill! Peer Listeners are students who have been taught how to listen to others - to listen to their feelings as well as to their thoughts and ideas. Sixty-nine activities for training Peer Listeners are presented in this book. In addition to listening to others, Peer Listeners can serve in a variety of roles including activity leader, cross age tutor, co-leader for a small discussion group and a big brother/big siser.
