Living As If Heaven Matters
By David Shibley This book is a call to live for what matters forever. It is a challenge to view genuine success, not in terms of earthly acclaim or possessions, but in terms of a "well done" from Jesus. The primary focus of this book is to show readers how to live today "in heaven’s honor," focusing on the day when we stand before God at the seat of judgment. A secondary focus will be a biblical theology of heaven with a description of its joys and rewards. This is not a general book about living the Christian life severed from its relation to what happens in eternity. Just as there are levels of anointing and affirmation on Earth, this book shows that there will be levels of anointing and affirmation in heaven. It helps us to see that there is kingdom work to doâ that will last forever. About the AuthorDAVID SHIBLEY is president and founder of Global Advance, an international ministry that has equipped more than 300,000 church leaders in 80 nations. Acknowledged as a missionary statesman, he speaks at 20–30 churches/conferences throughout America annually and has written 15 books.

I wanted to give it a 4 star then realized it was because I didn’t like how convicted I felt. Highly recommended if you are looking for ways scripture talks about heaven and heavenly rewards.

This book really did give me more perspective. Longing for the day I die is not a death wish but rather a life wish. Death is a door to something far greater! The author does seem to contradict himself sometimes, but he has a lot of good things to say. I love his elaborations of analogies like the bride of Christ and the salt of the earth. He quotes hymns and Scripture throughout. A touching read for any Christian.
