Provides instructions for making Christmas crafts, including cross-stitched table linens, salt dough figures, wreaths, wrapping paper, and cake decorations
I'm wavering between two and three stars here. The projects are all from the 1990s, and it definitely shows. There are a couple of things that I think could be updated and make good Christmas crafts, but as they stand, they look dated (but not in the cool way). The wordiness of the book is both good and bad. It makes the projects more difficult because you don't have simple steps to follow. But, you get a lot of great background information about Christmas and traditions all over the world.
Some of the high points: -lots of projects -lots of templates -descriptions of why certain symbols are associated with Christmas -projects for all ages
Some of the low points: -projects are not listed with steps -descriptions are lengthy -projects are dated
I'd recommend this book to someone who is imaginative and could use some of the ideas to create fun new projects. It would also be good for a family who is interested in making some crafts and learning about the history of Christmas.
I actually bought this book when it was first published, and has been picked up over the years but never actually read until now. As the other reviewer has said, the book is showing its age, but great for templates and a starting point to expand ideas for your own crafting ideas.
