About 2/3 of it is like this:

HAIL STORM

The air should be white it feels so thick,
or yellow-brown with the stench
of tobacco curing in the cracked black barn...

Basically natural descriptions, mostly of the Kentucky/Ohio region. About 1/3 of it is like this:

TO RESOLVE A DREAM

Here you are in a boat,
flat-bottom, unrustable silver,
trailing folded silk.
Beneath you is the dream:
orange-eyed, saw-toothed
water boas; they roil and bite
fierce in their own sour fluids...

So a bit further out there, but not as far out as the book jacket would have you think. It's a short book, and it held my interest for all 27 pages.
