This book focuses on the final months of World War II in northwestern Germany and the fighting in the industrial Ruhr River valley as the Allies surrounded more than 325,000 German soldiers of Army Group B, preventing the formation of a new front.

This campaign is perhaps best known for the surprise capture of the Remagen bridge over the Rhine River by the Allies, allowing the Allies to create an important beachhead on the east side of the river.

There is an abundance of excellent photographs. The only negative is that the book has a single, crude map that makes it hard to locate where certain action is taking place as described in the text.
