Shamus-If I keep worrying about everything that could go wrong, I’ll never get to sleep. Needing a distraction, I turn on the news.

One click and she’s everywhere.

Breaking news. Unapologetic as ever, NovaKain says, ‘F U Grammys.’ With both hands.

Oh no. There’s my star attraction, high as hell. Wearing the same clothes I left her in. Yesterday. Right down to the hospital ID band on her wrist. It’s like deja vu in hell, except…Isn’t that the guy from Fight Club?

Yep, and she’s on him like a patch on a jacket.

Off balance, she giggles through a statement of some sort. Two words in and the beautiful duo completely break down into raucous peals of laughter. Unable to contain the hilarity, she hands the newsman a familiar ivory envelope and my gut churns.

Practically salivating, the reporter can’t spread the bad news fast enough. “Dear Miss Kain...”
As he reads, I get a sinking feeling. Like the noose is already around my neck and the stool’s wobbling.

Where are her handlers? Those that are supposed to be looking out for her? Right here.

I should never have left her. I won’t make that mistake again.

I should have tied her up and thrown her in the trunk.
It should end right there. But on live TV, she’s gotta have the last say. Glassy-eyed, she smirks as the camera zooms in. “Man have I had a week. Rusty hasn’t changed. I don’t think I have any more friends left, but if I do, he’d find a way to screw them too. Then there’s the overdose. Oh my God! Did you guys hear? They tried to 5150 my ass. Monday’s suck. Amirite?”

It’s Sunday, but no one corrects her.
“All I wanted was a little fun before I’m shut off and somehow I’m the bad guy. Whatever haters. Come see me at The Four Leaf. Vegas Baby!”

She turns to the reporter. “Can I say hi to my boss, Shamrock Malone?”
It’s Shamus but I’ve been called worse. At least she got the venue right.

Then I think of what Justice said. We forgive famous people of everything just to be in their light.

I text my brother. Justice, we have a problem.

Enjoy Rock Bottom. From the author of The Chubby Chasers, Inc. Series comes an addictive tale of romance on the rocks featuring a pop star that’s run out of chances, and the enabler willing to give her one more.

When I review a book, which I don’t do very often, I try to pinpoint what stood out to me the most. While reading Rock Bottom, I found a couple of things. The first was Mrs. Brashears writing. I believed 100% that Nova was a musician by the way her character was written. She didn’t just write Nova’s thoughts and desires, she did so in a way that flowed, just like the lyrics of the perfect song. Nova’s mind worked as I imagine a musician does. I was blown away by that.
The next thing that stood out to me was how I felt Nova’s out of control nature. I could picture how many of today’s celebrities behave behind closed doors and sometimes in the public eye. When reading Nova’s POV, I believed that she was spiraling out of control. That she was yes, a brat, but there was more to her. To me, she was reaching out for someone to help her. For someone to care…
Enter Shamus.
Wow, being an avid reader I’ve had many book boyfriends, but none of them have made me melt the way Shamus did. Like Nova’s out of control POV, I felt Shamus’s personality. I felt his guilt about losing his father. I felt the need to help Nova when no one else would.
I felt his heart.
He was the calm to her storm.
Angie developed not only Nova and Shaums’ characters flawlessly, but the supporting characters as well. I can’t wait to read the next book. Especially with how she left this book. I have so many questions that need to be answered. I need the next book, like today. Good job, sweetie! You’ve totally gained a fan in me.

Where do I start?!!!!! I absolutely love the concept of this book and this new series. Stars need help, sometimes from themselves and often more than just a personal assistant, in comes the idea of a Handler. Angie floored me with this kinda bratty and self indulged girl in Nova. I went from feeling for her and cheering for her to gain her independence to wanting to throttle her all in just the beginning, but it was Angie’s way of developing the character so we really got to know what it was like to BE Nova. (In the end I love her, just so you know) When things really couldn’t get worse for Nova, we meet Shamus who basically comes in and saves the day! Actually he more than saves the day, he completes Nova and really makes her a better person in my opinion. This story will make you curse at the characters, laugh, and set your panties ablaze. Angie isn’t your typical author who writes an easy story, she challenges you and the way you think with her honest (and sometimes almost brutally) descriptions and story lines. Don’t let this deter you though, this is an amazing read with a HEA, HOT HOT HOT protagonist and sexy & feisty heroine. Team Shanova for the win! Sometimes strength and power comes better in a pair!

Ugh.....Nova.....In the beginning of the book I wanted to take her by her shoulders and shake some sense into her and I believe this is what the author was going for!! She definitely made you feel like where they hell are her true friends, the people who love her? I started to feel for her and the family/true friends she was lacking in her life. Right when she is at Rock Bottom in walks Shamus! My oh my....I found my new book boyfriend! He is sweet and caring and did I mention extremely hot? He comes in and basically saves the damsel in distress. They make a fabulous couple!! If you want a good rocker read with a lot of heart, I recommend this book!! Hands up for "Shanova".

I want to start off by saying I really like this cover! I loved getting to know the characters. NovaKain and Shamus are great characters, they both have their own struggles but NovaKain goes through a lot. The title fits this story well as you will see when you read it. There were some LOL moments, some moments that my heart broke a little bit. I really enjoyed this story. One click it today!

Candy Cane changes her name to Nova Kain and leaves hit tv show. She experiences a number of let downs that turn into hit songs and gets nominated for a Grammy award. Her fame has left her with an insatiable appetite for something more and in her quest to satisfy it she winds up in the hospital from a drug overdose. It's there she meets Shamus and Justice who promise to take care of her if she comes to work for them in Vegas.

Amazing!!!

One word Shanova.... I loved this book. Angie did not disappoint. I loved the chemistry between Shamus and Nova. Can't wait for the next book in the Handler series... I think we all need a handler at one time in our lives.. I loved Nova and wish I could reach into the book and hug her and just be her friend. I recommend this book.

Music artist NovaKain hit Rock Bottom extra Hard!!! Awesome and Sweet Shamus Malone takes pity on her and agrees to help her career. Last thing either expect is the feelings they have for each other!
SideNote: Shamus to way to good for her! Just saying!!
