I have not enjoyed a book like this in years. Maybe it was being by the pool without my kids around. Maybe it was the two drinks. Maybe it was subtle, brilliant, and beautiful. Who knows. I loved it. Poetry.

is like a philosophical fever dream set in cold war era Prague. love, politics, and existential dread all swirl together in a story that’s as deep as it is dramatic. kundera really said, “let’s question everything,” and I’m here for it

Lightness of Treatment

A recapitulate of the plot with the observation that philosophical and political themes are alluded to ... not worth the six bucks.
