Social Problems

What is a Social Problem? Most readers will agree that these anecdotes illustrate common social problems in the United States today. AIDS, bank failures, and contaminated waste are some of our society's most pressing concerns. We might mention others, such as poverty, violence, drugs, racism, sexism, crime, and homelessness. Our final list would depend to a large extent on what part of the nation we live in and what issues affect our lives most immediately.
