Superb! This books presents the modern spoken/colloquial Azerbaijani in a clear and useful manner. Each chapter contains numerous dialogues with lots of helpful vocabulary, grammatical explanations that the astute language learner will understand readily, and tons of exercises that both drill and work the concepts of the chapter. The book uses the current Latin-alphabet adaptation but includes several exercises to help familiarize the learner with the Cyrillic alphabet since the country is moving away from it. There is a dictionary in the back of the book, and each chapter contains word lists of new vocabulary. There are CD recordings (available from the author) of the conversations and many exercises (all with clear pronunciation) to help train the learner's ear and speaking ability. I would highly recommend this to the serious Azerbaijani student or self-study learner. Thanks!
