The last time Ben Shaw stepped in to help a young woman, five people died. Now he's back...
A despicable act of pure evil happens in the skies over Wyoming leaving hundreds of people dead.
A nation-wide man hunt turns up nothing for Carolyn Ryder, the FBI agent in-charge of hunting down those responsible. But what Ryder didn't count on was Ben Shaw walking innocently into a gas station in the middle of nowhere in Utah and confronting one of the perpetrators face-to-face.
Shaw sees a ghost from his past and takes it upon himself to follow the trail and exact his own form of justice. Shaw's quest quickly turns into a break-neck race across Utah with the FBI, local police and a gang of disgruntled bikers on his tail.
Can he stay one step ahead and uncover the ruthless killers responsible before they unleash their next act of evil?
But there's someone else stalking the lonely highways of southern Utah leaving behind a trail of heart-broken families in their wake. For Officer Beth Rimes, catching the Highway Killer has become her obsession over the years, and when Ben Shaw crosses her path, she has him squarely in her sights.
Set amongst the small towns, desolate open highways and ruggedness of Utah, American Justice is a roller coaster road trip adult thriller.

An Amazing Thriller That Has Terrorists,An Independent Killer, FBI and Ben Shaw!!
Another fantastic, fast-paced thriller in the Justice series!! I am so in love with these stories, providing great characters, incredible action and mystery all wrapped around a man with integrity, high morals and heart. Ben Shaw travels alone, trying to keep a life shadow that no one bothers with, but he will always do the right thing when he sees any trouble . This story is fascinating as there are several plots that meld seamlessly together in an enthralling tale! A 5 STAR book that had me holding my breath and squirming in my seat through scenery that I can clearly see right in front of me....
The best thus far in this series! Of course, this is only my third book and there hasn’t been a bad one yet. Lots of heart-pounding action, a large cast of very intriguing and memorable characters, along with several strong plotlines that shock, stun, tease and bewilder as they become entangled. Adding to the allure and fear that Ellem so aptly paints are the behind-the-scene evilness infiltrating small towns, the dangerous abandoned mines, and the loneliest, deadliest and treacherous highways across Utah.
A hijacked commercial airplane blown out of the sky killing over 200 men, women and children, a missing airline stewardess, and a serial highway killer on the run provides a wild and terrifying thrill ride with a lot of moving parts and a large cast of characters. Among those characters are some of the worst dastardly bastards on all fronts.
Ben shares more than the usual amount of time in the spotlight with three strong women in this round. Of course, he rescues and “comforts” one in particular over the other two -- if you call having sex in a dark and cold cave on a rock ledge comforting! Jessie Rae, Beth Rimes, and Carolyn Ryan all get high-fives for their dedication, strength and courage in fighting to right the wrongs.
I was disappointed that there wasn’t more interaction between Carolyn Ryder and Ben. After all, they had history both as colleagues and romantically, and we didn’t get much on what happened between them. Heck, they barely acknowledged one another’s presence – leading one to draw a conclusion that something definitely went down between them. Add in the fact that Ben Shaw left Washington, D.C. and his job to hike across the country. Surely, there are some juicy details this author could share with readers.
Aaaand, we’re back to the "same name game." In first place is Freddy, who appears in the first three books in the series.
So far, Freddy has been a horse who died in a barn fire in NO JUSTICE, then as Freddy Myers, a vile would-be rapist in COLD JUSTICE, and now Freddy Monk, who’s doing triple duty as a young gasoline station attendant in AMERICAN JUSTICE.
Emily Bell, the elementary school teacher in NO JUSTICE, has quickly aged and now appears in AMERICAN JUSTICE as an Alzeimer’s patient named Emily Ryan, the mother of Carolyn Ryan, the FBI Agent who at one time dated Ben Shaw.
JKE leaves readers with a little unfinished business at the end of this book regarding what happened to the Highway Killer Sam Pritchard. That cliffhanger demands to be resolved in haste with a punishment to fit the crimes before he strikes again with his tortuous acts and killings.
I’ll be on pins and needles until I get Hidden Justice and Raw Justice read and find out where we go from there with Ben Shaw and his journeys for justice. I’m hoping for more – and would love to see familiar faces from past books make reappearances.
In the meantime, I nominate Ben Shaw for an honorable mention from the Marvel team and suggest a Captain America suit of red, white and blue for Ben Shaw!

I'm loving this Justice series. Ben Shaw is an intriguing character and unassuming hero. He doesn't go looking for trouble, but when someone needs help, he's willing to give his all to see justice done.
When Ben stops at a convenience store, he finds a man giving the woman he's with a hard time. He recognizes the man as Abasi Rasul, a person of interest in the plane bombing that just occurred. He quickly neutralizes the situation with a boiling hot cup of coffee and takes Rasul and the woman with him. The woman, Jessie, is an airline stewardess, who was hijacked by Rasul and doesn't know what to think of Shaw. Is he her savior or has she just been kidnapped again?
This is an action packed thriller that involves many people including the local police, the FBI, terrorists and a man who has been killing people in the area for years without being caught. The writing and plot moves smoothly between all the different situations going on. I highly recommend American Justice. I'm definitely looking forward to more in this series!
There's no doubt in my mind that Ben Shaw is the people's hero. He's proven that time and again.
He stops in these small towns and takes care of their small town problems. This time is a little different. He's taking on national terrorists. And, of course there is a young lady who gets ensnared in the scheme of the terrorist when he kidnaps her for a ride. Just perfect for our Mr Shaw. People's hero and lady killer. Lol. But, he is humble, I will give him that.

I thought it was brilliant of J.K. Ellem to tie this book up in an abandoned mine. Many entrances, many tunnels, no one knows that anyone else is there. I thought it was perfect. Until...I got a little tired of crawling around in the dark. Ok. Maybe it's just me. I don't know. It seemed to be a small portion of the book, but, wow, to me it just dragged on and on. I couldn't wait for the ending to come. And, it was a very good ending when it ended. I liked that it wasn't all nice and neat.
All in all, it was a very good book. I like that we learn something new about Ben in each book.
I wish to thank J.K. Ellem for the advanced readers copy of this book. In return, I offer this completely unbiased review.

Another great Ben Shaw adventure to join the Justice series. As always this book has great characters and a great storyline that is easy to follow and get caught up in. As always you have the hot under the collar moments with Ben that a story as good as this doesn't really need but is an added extra.
Only bit that confused me a little is what happens to the serial killer, Pritchard? Was he caught? Did he die from his injuries? Is he going to be in the next Justice Book? Definitely needs a conclusion but I'd definitely recommend this series.
I loved book #3 in the Justice series, you could read it as a stand-alone, however, I recommend starting with book one and reading them in order. I have really enjoyed getting to know the characters and it is great to see some of them pop up in other J.K. Ellem books! Carolyn Ryder is the main character in A Winter's Kill and I know there are other books in the works for that series! Looking forward to seeing how Carolyn's journey unfolds in the Kill books and of course Ben Shaw in the Justice series. Another page-turner! On to Hidden Justice...
I am truly enjoying this series of No Justice but I have to say this installment was way over the top. Just a little too many moving parts and If I am being honest I even felt as if my hero, Ben, played second fiddle this time. Yes, he was the unrefuted hero but he still seemed to take a backseat to the criminals. Maybe book 4 will bring my true unseen, unsung hero back to the forefront.
This is another great, high-action novel by great author J.K. Ellem. There's a serial highway killer, a commercial airline blown out of the sky, and a suspicious man and woman seeking justice. I've read many of this author's stories and they are mind blowing and suspenseful thrillers which give the reader a thrill on every page. Highly recommend.
I literally could not stop reading!! JK Ellem's No Justice Series is one fast moving, exciting line up of books I've ever experienced. The characters are totally unforgettable. The situations were heart stopping. I actually found myself holding my breath while I was reading. Whew!! On to the next one 😁
I am sorry I didn't start this from book 1. I feel that I would have benefited more from doing so. The story line is could, I do feel that the writer should concentrate more on one story than jumping through 2-3 different plot lines all at once.
I had read the other 4 books; The Spring,Summer, Fall and Winter Kill first. I wish I had read this one 1st and something's would have made the storytelling come together better.
This may be the best one yet! To be fair I have thought that about each one of his books but I did finish this one in 2 days. Can't wait to start the next one!
Just love this series full of action and Ben is a very down to earth person who is only to willing to help those who are in trouble from not nice people great series .
I like Ben Shaw as a character - the seemingly unwilling hero steps up to the plate. There were parts where all hope seemed to be lost, but somehow it all falls into place.
