Rate this book
De’vonte Alexander, also known as Block, is as ruggish and thuggish as he wants to be in the great state of Texas. He’s the local drug dealer who keeps the blocks hot and the crackheads doped up. He’s the man everyone goes to for their ‘fixings’, no matter what it is. Block is the dude all chicks love, so he doesn’t sweat none of them…until he meets the assistant principal at his son’s school. Amerika Parker is the new assistant principal at one of the best middle schools in Fort Bend County. Her impeccable reputation has secured her a high salaried position at the school. She loves her job and takes pride in it, which is how she meets De’vonte. Having called Javion’s parents to school due to fighting, she meets the handsome and swagged out thug. Their connection to each other is almost instant, but having nothing in common with him, Amerika won’t even entertain the idea. Alondra is Javion’s ‘shake her finger, twist her neck, get all in your face’ mom and Devonte’s baby mama. When things between Javion and Alondra’s boyfriend, Jordan hit an all time high, the young boy calls for help from his principal. Having been thrown together once again, the two try their best to fight their feelings for each other. Will Amerika and De’vonte finally make it once their feelings are revealed? Will Alondra finally get her boyfriend to commit to her and will she lose her son in the process? Find out how all the drama unfolds in A Thug Taught Me How to Love…

You can already tell this is going to be a really good series and I love it. This book is full of drama and more drama. It was well written and flowed really well. Held my attention from beginning to end and I still wanted more. Alondra is so messy and trouble maker, making De'vonte life a living hell. Trying to figure out why he let his her do all that she does, is a mystery to me. Amerika is clueless but she'll soon find out. I'm so sick of Alondra and Sadie. Can't wait for PT.2 to see what happens next after that ending. Job well done Shelli Marie and Lady Lissa.

Davonte and Amerika have the potential to have a beautiful love story but lawd all the side drama. And most of it stems from Alondra’s situation with Jordan. She definitely needs to get it together for the sake of her son and her unborn.Sadie is a hot mess. The fact that she put her own feelings above her daughter’s shows that she definitely doesn’t need another kid.I mean the pastor, come on.And I bet the baby is his but either way her and Alondra aren’t much different. That cliffhanger at the end tho.

It was an ok read

Everybody in this book was childish ass heck. I mean nobody had sense. Why Drevonte let his bm Alondra get away with what she doing is crazy. Jordan was just a typical man. I dont know Amerika was the only one with some sense. This title just doesn't fit the book.

De’Vonte Alexander (Block) was a thug in the streets of Texas. Block was a local drug dealer who was well liked by women. Block meets his son’s assistant principal, Amerika and likes her. Amerika loved her job working with the students. Amerika and Block had an instant connection, but she was not interested in him due to his lifestyle. Javion is the son of Block and Alondra. Alondra was in an abusive relationship. Javion calls on Amerika to help him. This book is filled with drama. Good read.

Great Read

Amerika was just living a simple life until she caught De'Vonte eye. From there she was caught up in something she never thought would happened. Dealing with De'Vonte comes with a bitter and messy baby momma and unknown enemies. De'Vonte seems to have his hands full. Sadie and Alondra need to go take several seats both of them know Jordan is trifling and Sadie is just as trifling as well. It seems like everybody is screwing everybody in their little circle.
