Martin Bowman
31 booksMartin Bowman is a Scottish writer and translator. As a child, he emigrated to Canada with his parents. He grew up in the Montreal suburb of Verdun. He returned to Scotland as a graduate student, undertaking research on the fiction of John Galt.
In 1980, Bowman and Bill Findlay transated Michel Tremblay's Les Belles Soeurs into contemporary Scots as The Guid Sisters. Michael Boyd produced their adaptation for Glasgow's Tron Theatre in 1989 and it went on to play in Toronto in 1990 and the Centaur Theatre in Montreal in 1992. It was revived by the National Theatre of Scotland and the Royal Lyceum Theatre, Edinburgh, in 2012.
In the years following the première of The Guid Sisters, Bowman and Findlay translated seven other Tremblay plays into Scots: Hosanna, The Real World? (Tron); The House Among the Stars (Traverse Theatre and Perth Theatre); Forever Yours, Marie-Lou (Ladder Man Productions for the Tron); Albertine in Five Times (Clyde Unity); Solumn Mass for a Full Moon in Summer (Traverse Theatre and the Barbican); and If Only... (Royal Lyceum Theatre).
In the 1980s, Bowman contributed articles and reviews to the Scottish and international literature, arts and affairs magazine, Cencrastus.

Just came in from one of the Main library, today and i couldn't help start reading parts of it already
I just Luv big coffee table War Plane books...too bad it mostly had photo's of still flying planes and Very few combat photo's. They sure left out quite a few planes off their list since they wanted still flying planes. 13 bombers and fighters from a Very big war barely scratches the surface of even the U.S.A. planes

What an excellent picture book. Beautiful photo's of rare birds still flying w/a few shots of war pictures and lots of neat trivia and comments from pilots of said planes

Worth looking for if you're interested in World War II aviation.
