At sixteen, Bella’s life has been filled with one tragic event after another. While on the road to recovery, she learns justice may not prevail. Refusing to let the bastard go unpunished, she decides to take matters into her own hands. A plot for revenge may be her undoing, but she’s determined to make Gervasio suffer. With everything they’ve been through, the last thing Jeremiah expected from Bella were lies and secrets. He knows she’s out for blood, yet he’ll do whatever it takes to protect her. Including turning her into the police. Gervasio may have gone into hiding, but he won’t leave empty-handed. Bella has always belonged to him and he won’t leave town without her. He’ll make it so he’s all she has left, even if it means going out with a bang. Is Bella so set out on revenge, she’s willing to accept the consequences? Is it too late for Jeremiah to play the hero? Or will Gervasio get what he wants once and for all?
Writers exist because they have a story to tell. Sometimes it’s whatever comes out of our imagination. Other times it’s something that comes from our own experiences. Either way, I believe we can learn from every book we read and every book (as authors) we write. The more I write and read, the better at my craft I become. No school can teach me that, but it can still give me the basics. That is the reason I’ll be finishing my Bachelor’s and moving on to my Master’s.
About: Bella is finally ready to head on her long journey towards recovery. She knows that she won't be able to do it fully until the person who put her through everything is locked up once and for all. She also wants to find a way to reconnect with her friends and her boyfriend. Meanwhile, Gervasio has other plans for her. Plot: I didn't think it was possible for sequels to just keep getting better. Usually, they go the opposite way. The first one is powerful and strong and then it fizzles out as the series goes on. This series is definitely one that gets stronger as it continues. When I first picked up the first one, I wasn't comfortable with it. I stuck with it. I'm so glad I did now. It is emotional and raw. It's a truly beautiful story! Characters: I loved Bella in the beginning. I am starting to love her again. Miah was a hit and miss for me in this one. In some parts, he was great. In others, he was kind of a jerk. I mean I get where he was coming from, but still. I didn't like her friends at all in this one. I get that she hurt them, but couldn't they see that she needed them? What happens to friends no matter what? Suggestions: There are some scenes that I felt like could have been accented a bit better. Gone into more detail. Recommend: Yes! Please read the first two books first!
I loved it, I do wish that David would of been more involved in this book. So I am excited for the next one. Some things I was left wondering like what was found about Russell or what was the secret that Vick had that Bella thought he needed to tell amanda. Also the was that Gervasio talked he made it sound like Bellas bio dad promised him bella/approved of then eventually getting together, yet it was never really talked about/brought it. I'm so wondering if her dad did promise her to Gervasio. I'm hoping the next book might awnser some questions.

Krys Fenner finally concludes Bella's story. I feel like I waited forever for Bella's closure, but we FINALLY get it in Avenged. I have thoroughly enjoyed this story and can't wait to see the shift in characters in the next one!
This series took a happy, whole young girl and broke her more than any girl should EVER be broken, and she essentially put herself back together with the love and support from her boyfriend and his family. This book had my heart pitter-pattering away, and I literally read it in one sitting. I couldn't wait to see how it ended.
Krys Fenner did a great job. This book is in third person (and I'm a third person snob), and she does it so well because there are so many POVs... with good reason. If you're looking for a good, thrilling YA, this is a great pick. I will leave a warning that this is a dark book with very disturbing themes including drugs, rape and violence.
