It's one thing to understand how important self-care is, but how many of us actually manage to make the time do it?
Self-care is a preventative action that focuses on our health and happiness, and yet so often it gets put aside when other things, and people, vie for our time and attention - it's only when life has knocked us to our knees that we realise how vitally important it is.
Following on from the hugely popular The Self-Care Project , Jayne Hardy, CEO and founder of The Blurt Foundation, helps us to plan for obstacles, devise contingency plans, be mindful of the way our days play out, and prioritise the things that are truly important to us. With the flexibility of choosing to start the journal anytime; on any day, in any year, this is the essential companion for bringing more self-care into your life.
I have been wondering where my copy was, but it turned out I had cancelled the hard-copy instead of the kindle version!
So from the point of view a kindle copy of this book is no good as you are obviously not able to fill out the content. I have to say I am disappointed in the amount of space there is though to write (I am guessing the hard copy will be off similar proportions) the prompts are one word, like for example the first 4 days - Boost, Noise, See, Treasure. These do open up a whole world of each individual's interpretation though after a skim through I am already wondering how on earth some will connect with me!.
I am contemplating ordered the hard copy (again) and look forward to delving in, though mean time I am using a hardback notebook,
This really is an excellent self care tool and Jayne Hardy should be applauded for coming up with it. If like me you have the Kindle edition, don't despair as you can download the sheets for printing out. Or why not buy a journal and the complete the information for each day in that. There's nothing to stop you downloading an app and putting everything in that either. You can start whenever you want So go on give yourself 365 days of self care. You won't regret it.
