Dismal England suprised me. My dad had been badgering me to read it for some time, finally I gave in and picked it up. My copy is a tattered, warped, twisted copy and didn't look fun and exciting.
How wrong I was.
It's gripping and timeless. Everything in the book can be related to today and it opens your eyes to where you actually live. It's also rather amusing sometimes, I think that this is mainly due to the accents and dialects he uses. I gi' it two o' mi thumb's up, aye it's a reet gooddun!
