I can say this is one of the best books I've ever read! The book deals with ideas about the liberation of woman and voices against the virtual enslavement by husbands. I initially thought that the book is biased and will be only portraying all men as bad and vile, but that was not the case.
The author was so sensitive as well as analytical in penning down. Her words are uncomplicated, yet hold humongous significance.
Most of the problems women face in our society for over thousands of years have been questioned. At a place she writes "Just because something has been happening for thousands of years, does it become less cruel?" The injustices were viewed from a fair point of view, and the author doesn't stress to establish superiority of women over men, just like every other authors who would tend to, while writing on such a sensitive topic, but rather focusses on equality.
I believe an extensive spread of the book would revolutionize our world. The author was so sensitive as well as analytical in penning down. A must read for all!

Controversy related to this book is justified as I read this book, male ego and the traditional roots of this society are the reasons behind it.
A bold and courageous masterpiece in Gujarati Language
An awesome and extremely thought provoking read.
If you are a woman, you will emerge as a woman of different thought process towards the traditional ways of Indian male dominated society after reading this book.
If you are a man, you will change your ways of thinking towards the state of women in today's era.
Recommended for every Indian - Must read.

This is my very first novel I read in my life when I was in 9th grade. 14 y/o I was back then, I never knew what feminism is. This book introduced me to it. I was shocked and in pain reading every page. Author talked about those things which were never talked around me. She fearlessly questioned everything and gave a tight slap to the men dominated society and believes.

This book is so special in my life, also as a book reader. MUST READ. THIS IS ALSO MY FIRST REVIEW OF BOOKs ON GOODREADS, ALSO OF THE FIRST NOVEL I READ IN MY THIS BIRTH!

It came perhaps much before its time. For now the story is being told and retold in so many different ways and contexts etc. But this was perhaps the beginning and therefore precious, for having setting the trend to look at events from a woman's view too.

Our Blogger Smt. Kiran Ashutosh Kumar read its Hindi translation, and her thoughts were, " Have you evaluated 'yourself' 'selflessly'?

Try once to look beyond yourself positively , evaluating stages of life. One realizes that we were living directionless.
This is what this Sahitya Akademi award winning book "दीवारों से पार आकाश" is about. On reading this book, I felt the sky is limitless. We just have to cross our inner boundaries and venture into it.

This book broaches the subject of women empowerment. Women are the backbone of our family, society, and country. Give them the whole sky so that they can spread their wings, and then you will see how beautiful the world is."

A Young Woman's Trials: The story follows Vasudha, a young woman from a middle-class family, as she navigates the labyrinthine world of married life in 1980s India. Leaving behind the warmth and familiarity of her childhood home, she enters an upper-middle-class household brimming with unspoken rules and expectations. Vasudha's journey in "Saat Pagla Aakash Ma" is not a path paved with rose petals; it's a constant struggle to find her place within the rigid confines of societal norms.

A book originally written as a dairy, as observations by Kundnika Kapadia regarding womanhood. Her insightful understanding of the invisible battles of women around her in the society, are depicted with from a woman's perspective. Her women characters are dynamic and men characters are flat representative of typical manhood. The novel is a milestone for feminist literature, originally in Gujarati language and then in further more other languages.

Anandgram - the escape! The part I loved the most about this book is the concept of Anandgram..people who don't want to live life as per the society's standards, make their own place where they can live life the way they want and find a purpose of life
