This was the first book by Kim Brackett that I've read but it won't be the last. She had some really good quilting tips and techniques that will be useful to me. Plus I highlighted 9 different quilt patterns that I would like to try.

Every quilter knows how quickly a scrap stash can grow, especially if you’re a quilter who loves their fabrics like I do. You can’t bring yourself to just toss the sometimes small or oddly shaped bits of this and that. But what do you do with them? Make scrap quilts, of course! And if you want some wonderful ideas about how to use those scraps, Scrap-Basket Bounty is a great place to start.
This book offers great hints on how to decide on which scraps to use like:
o Use scraps from the same designer, but different collections. A great hint, especially since designers tend to favor certain color combinations and always have a similar personality
o Use a single solid background color with a combination of another color (red). The color consistency allows you to scrap it up, and still create a cohesive look.
o During layout, try turning the blocks in different ways for a unique final result
o Use a seasonal color scheme, such as summery colors for a picnic quilt.
o Use a theme like polka dots or text prints to keep a cohesive, but still scrappy feel
o Focus on blocks like log cabins that can really help use up scraps of all different sizes and shapes.
Some of the features I really appreciated about this book:
Shows at least two different examples of quilts made from the same block type laid out in an alternate pattern. Some of them look entirely different with the slightest change!
Explains what type of blocks respond well to what kind of treatments (turned on the diagonal, etc.).
Quickly explains the building blocks such as chain-piecing, half-square triangles, folded corner units and more.
The illustrations and instructions are clear and concise.
It caters to those who like a truly scrappy look and as well as those who want to use their scraps in a more cohesive fashion.
Truth be told, since I first started quilting, aside from my addiction to fabric, my passion for quilt books and patterns is unmatched. And as someone who tries very hard not to create unnecessary waste, I needed this book!

I LOVE the cover quilt! My plan is to cut these light and dark units as I go along with other projects, and when I have enough units, I will make the quilt.
I need to pay attention to sales coming up to gather more lights. Any ideas on how I could gather these?

Wow! I Will Be Busy
It is very hard to pick which quilt I want to make first. Every one is gorgeous. Hmm. I wonder if I havE enough scraps. (My husband is somewhere laughing hysterically)
