On the off-shore Navy frigate Kauffman, an infected researcher threatens the lives of everybody onboard the new floating CDC laboratory. Within the infected, certain disturbing traits are observed that cause survivors to question everything they thought they knew about the virus that devastated mankind. In the battle for supremacy, who will come out on top?

I enjoyed this 5th book in the series. Hatch and his group continue to find stability in a world full of zombies and marauders. The government scientist fight to find a cure, but it seems the virus is mutating. Simon continues to be the worst example of a human being. I really want him to get eaten, no offence Heath, but the fight with Simon is getting a bit stale and not moving fast enough. I look forward to the next volume and really hope it has some major resolutions planned. Loved the book, but it also lacked any major events. This is fine as long as it leads to something big in the next volume. Keep up the great writing!
I’m not sure how Mr. Stallcup keeps this series going and still surprising us after 5 books now. Still what a ride he’s taking us on….can’t wait to find out what happens to the cagers and the resort of sorts. ;-)
Love love this series!! Actually shed a tear when a certain character died, I was so hopeful! Almost afraid to start the next one, I know someone i love is going to die, I can feel it lol
