Will start by saying this is a really good story and a good action tale told with a narrative and character line which is good to read. ….. but …. there’s a volume missing somewhere. This story makes reference to events in volume 1 but then makes numerous character and event references from another part of the story that I just cannot find to read. Searched and searched but no go - this is not too bad to the story BUT some of the characters are defined in the missing tome and this got confusing. Good story x but …
Alex Shepard ‘The Wolf’ has exacted his revenge. All he wants is a normal life. Kruger & Coolio help him start a new life with a new identity. Meet Troy Wilson, school resource officer in Texas. Troy settles into his new life, but still misses his wife and daughter taken out in an inferno on a school bus by ISIS dirt bags. He traveled across the globe to get revenge for those responsible.
Now in his new life he mentors students and is having to deal with a Mexican drug gang moving into town. He also meets a fine lady, but feels guilt about his wife and daughter. Troy is a hit with the students and gets the moniker of Dee Dubya (Deputy Wilson). After successfully dealing with the drug gang, Marcus a student orchestrates a celebration for their beloved Dubya for driving out the drug gang. The media runs with it and Dubya’s past catches up with him. The Russian Mafia is wanting to exact their revenge from his last operation with ODIN.
Alex Shepard is now hunted again, and the mafia will not stop until they get the man they are after. Alex reaches out for help, but his old comrades, who seem to be off the grid. But the Calvary does come to the rescue. Kruger, Coolio, Tanner, Cowboy and the rest of the posse ride in with their guns blazing to wipe out this evil.
This second novel of the Shepard series is up there with the rest of the novels by C W Lemoine. This novel ties in nicely with the Spectre Series. If you’re a fan of Lemoine’s novels, you will truly love this one as well. While this novel brings the story to an end, C W left the door open for more action-packed novels in the future. I sure hope there will be more.
C W Lemoine has done it again! I rate this a 5 Star read. Alex Shepard, a tier 1 operator, thinks he is out of the game and striving for normalcy with a new identity and a lower key job as Deputy Troy Wilson a school resource officer at a small high school. But not to be, as he is drawn into a battle that begins with a Mexican drug cartel and the Russian Bratva or mafia. He reunites with Odin, Kruger, Coolio and the rest of the team to stop a very evil enterprise. The action builds and builds and his alter ego “the Wolf” emerges to deal some serious pain and misery to the cartel and the Bratva! After mission completion and a helluva ride can the Wolf morph back into the Sheepdog? Time will tell and I can’t wait for the sequel!
The general public doesn’t realize it but the are like a Hapless flock of sheep waiting to be savaged by the wolves. The wolves are the terrorist and sex traffickers and others willing to do anything to the hapless civilian population! They need a protector, a shepherd! In steps Alex Shepherd. Great action story!
working my way through the spectre series, these Alex shepard stories are a fun side journey. the character is reminiscent of all the characteristics of Jack reacher that I enjoy.
this book was a quick read, but the pace seemed appropriate. I'm glad I read it.
What should have been a good solo story and ended up being an ensemble book again, which isn't bad but I was really hoping for a Wolf solo story. Still the characters and the plot and writing style hold true to the rest of the series.
The second book in this series is not quite as good as the first one was. Just seems like a lot of loose and unexplained ends in the story. Decent action and nice ending. I’ll read the next one but hope it’s as good as the first one was.
